Guest guest
Dear Herbalists, Whilst rummaging through Barnes and Noble, I came across a fascinating book (I didn't buy it) about Phophetesses of old. Apparently if you survive a snake bite, one becomes immune and the second or subsequent bites produces a euphoria. Priestesses would use this. Experience " out of the body " experiences. See everything - even though their eyes were closed. The Oracles used this in Greece. Recently, in Miami, a man tending snakes was bitten by a tropical snake and survived even though it was a deadly bite. Some years later, another snake of the same species bit him. He experienced all of the above symptoms. He described it as seeming as if he had taken a hallucagenic drug. When he came round, he was physically o.k. No side effects. But he could remember feeling like a total god. As big as the planet, with awareness of everything. I found this interesting. Snakes have always been associated with Goddesses and priestesses in ancient times. And,one would consult and Oracle to tell one of the future. No wonder the snakes were driven out of Ireland. The Irish like a good fight and a good drink and to hell with the future!!!!!....................Love Penny
