Lobelia is the herb that is used in commercial herbal stop smoking products. It is a respiratory stimulant and a respiratory relaxant. So it relaxes as it stimulates and helps your system not crave nicotine.( I researched it for myself and to quit smoking). Have I quit- not completely still working on it. Nasty Nasty habit and I hate every minute of it. Good Luck with it. I have definitely heard good things about lobelia as an aid to quitting smoking.

I also have a couple friends who swear by coltsfoot. In fact, one friend

started mixing coltsfoot in with her tobacco (she rolled her own) and just

slowly increased the coltsfoot and decreased the tobacco. It took several

months, but eventually she was smoking only

coltsfoot and no tobacco, and could then manage to get rid of the physical habit

of smoking something pretty easily since she wasn't addicted to the coltsfoot.

I do know that coltsfoot, when smoked, is soothing to the lungs. I don't know

if it would have a helpful effect in a tea or tincture -- does anyone else know?

Peace,

Laura

Penny,

Thank you! Every little bit of help, helps! LOL So far so

good though :) I hope I can still say that in two weeks

though. It seems that 2 wks has been my cut off point. If I

can make it after two weeks, then I'm in the check :)
