Guest guest
Dear laura, My dear ............... " . . . before you get upset at something that someone has posted, especially if you disagree with what they have said, how about asking for further explanation? We're here to exchange ideas and help each other out, not get upset because we have misunderstood something someone else posted. " ............................ABSOLUTELY! One of the problems with list such as this is one does not know to whom one speaks... You obvioulsy have all your noodles inthe right place and have worked out exactly what to do....... The reason for my caution is that Gotu Kola is a GREAT heb but I, personally, would not like to recommend it BLINDLY for every single case of acne/ecxcema etc....... So, for those on the list who are still learning (myself included) I posted the cautionary post. Personally, I usually go in boots first and try everything (but then - I also surfed 12 foot waves at a River mouth during the hiatus between two hurricanes on the shark infested African Coast - divinely mad - as some would say )- and some folks can't swim.........Love Penny (hoping that June is a bit more cautionary and polite...<grin>)
Guest guest
Dear Cindy, There are some herbs that are (to be very basic and not get technical ) " superchargers " . Gotu Kola is one. Echinacea is another. They are like squirting starter fluid into the engine of a car. It is needed to start the engien working but, once it is working, let it go oby itself. Herbs are used to get the Body working onits own. Most medications bypass the body. So, for some herbs, we wait for a week and let the body putter along on it's own. One can " Swap " herbs. For instance Rubeckia can be used instead of Echinacea in some cases wher one wants to continue taking a herb. so, one could use three weeks on Echinace and then three weeks of Rudbeckia if needed. but, mostly, Herbalists, if Echinacia isn't working - will look for why it isn't (like the recipient is taking two gin and it's everyday and smoking twenty cigarettes per hour./...........Love PEnny
Guest guest
Thanks Penny, That makes a lot of sense. This herb really has made a difference in my life. I never took as much as recommended (several times per day) but even once in the morning before breakfast really charged me up. This is the best I've felt in years. Now I guess I will back off of it and give myself a little rest. Thanks for the input.
