Guest guest
Hi Renee, My first thought is to not even use a tincture that is at a 1:5 ratio and to just make it go right to get the skunk cabbage from some other source. My second thought is that if this is store bought "name brand", there is a good chance that 1 part skunk cabbage is not even at a 100%. Commercial companies do this all the time with Aloe Vera where you see this yellow or blue mixture that looks like rejected hair gel and it is stated that it is 98% Aloe Vera. What this really means is that the Aloe Vera they used was in a 98% solution with something else but the reality is that there could be less than 1% of the total mixture being Aloe Vera. This practise is done in the commercial industry all the time and to put it bluntly is downright misleading advertising and labelling. I'm sorry to have to tell you, but the chances of your coming up with an exact recipe using this store bought stuff is next to nil. I'd recommend you keep what you already have, throw away the store bought skunk cabbage and find a source for it and add your exact 1 oz. to the mixture when you find it. After you've added it (on the new moon) wait an additional 14 days before you press it. I think this is the only way you'll get even close to the original formula you are trying to duplicate. Hope this helps. Love, Ian Ian Shillington N.D.Dr.IanShillington - rja86 herbal_remedies Friday, December 01, 2000 4:37 PM [herbal remedies] tincture ? Hi there. I am making a tincture using 6 herbs at 1oz each dried herbs.I couldnt find one of the dried herbs (skunk cabbage) so I had to buyit already tinctured in a 1:5. My Question is, AFTER I make thecombination tincture (in one jar), how do I know how much of the alreadymade one(tincture) to put in. They, (herbs) are all 1oz ea. (equalparts) If I know the formula for doing that, it will help me with another one Iwant to make, with 5 herbs, same 1z ea.I also think 1:5 is weak, right? I use just enough to cover mine.If you are confused, you should be me right now, LOLThanksPS I need the answer in a b c's or 1 2 3's:)Love, and Merry ChristmasRenee and Jerry
