Guest guest
Lemon Balm will lower thyroid function. Nettle (Urtica Dioica) is said to be good for thyroid problems but I am unsure as to if is good for under and over active thyroids. Motherwort (Leonurus Cardiaca) is used for enlarged thyroid conditions. As is Bugleweed (Lycopus Virginicus). Barberry (Berberis Vulgaris) is a thyroid Stimulant. As far as I know, you should only use the dried plant because the fresh root will seriously upset your stomach and in high doses cause vomiting. Hope that was helpful...and if any of it is wrong...please let me know. -Vicki Mrs.Giggles joanr [joanr] Saturday, August 26, 2000 4:25 PM herbal remedies [herbal remedies] Herbs that affect the Thyroid Has anyone heard of the fact that lemon balm shouldn't be taken by people with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)? Also that black cohosh balances the thyroid? I can't find much info on this although I did run into the above researching recently in one article or book or somewhere - can't remember where..............................Joan ************************* joanr My Country Garden http://mygarden.cjb.net Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
