Guest guest
Dear All, This is very important for those of you who are interested in the survival of alternative medicine and herbal healing here in Florida. The following is outrageous. Their is currently a bill before the senate that would make it illegal to grow your own herbs or make your own vitamins or sell or prescribe the above. This is an effort to " protect " the medico's attempted monopoly. In essence, you would receive a $10,000 fine plus imprisonment for " advising " (prescribing) a person take vitamins or healing herbs. This bill has already passed the House and is with the Senate. For those of you who are interested in alternative health here in Florida, please help by calling and faxing your Senators. Best regards, Ian PS. For the full bill go to: http://www.house.state.fl.us/session/2000/billinfo/index.cfm?Mode=ViewBillInfo & B\ illNum=1625 attached in PDF format on the bottom. If your a writer help me write press releases Information concerning H 1625. According to the World Natural Health Organization, Representative Mike Fasano®of the 45th district of Florida has introduced a Republican backed bill in the Florida legislature, which, if passed, will prove to be highly unconstitutional. The bill, HB 1625, will restrict and criminalize all physicians and anyone else who recommends, sells, distributes, or manufactures any natural healthy care products or service in the state of Florida. MLM companies, health food retailers, and citizens eager to use natural health care products are also brought under the gun of this new, restrictive legislation. The language of the bill states, " ALL unapproved health care and all unlicensed health care workers " will be outlawed in Florida and any citizen or health care worker' violation of this act will be considered a 3rd degree felony punishable by as much has $ 10,000.00 a day and one year of prison. The President of the World Natural Health Organization in Washington D.C., Dr. James Dussault warns that enactment of this legislation will " if it passes the Senate and is signed into law by Governor Jed Bush, will set a national legislative precedence. So far, the bill has passed the first legislative committee and there is high expectation that it will be approved by the final committee. Once enacted, this law will pave the way for other States to pass similar restrictive legislation related to the natural healing arts. Furthermore, it has recently been established that a hidden agenda is in force within this law, one that enables the State of Florida to invoke the congressional naturopathic practitioner laws of 1929 and 1931 against all licensed physicians in Florida in order to compel them to treat their patients in compliance with this law, thus preventing them from making use of any natural procedure or products defined in the congressional definition of naturopathic practitioners procedures, such as vitamins, minerals, and herbal formulas. As a result, the broad public using any such modalities can be prosecuted under this new law as well. In a written e-mail statement Mr. Fasano wrote " I am not at all familiar with the practice of Naturopathy. Please understand, the bill was not directed to go after those individuals who practice Naturopathic medicine. The bill is directed at many individuals passing themselves off as licensed doctors and dentists and who are doing extreme harm to their patients. The bill does not create any new laws, it just stiffens the penalty for those who break the law. HB 1625 may be unconstitutional; however, until the courts rule otherwise or the legislature changes the law, we must abide by it " Contact the Governor Jeb Bush and Lt., Governor Frank T. Brogan.
