Yeah, and then you'll start reading about how chickens are raised commercially, and you'll want your own chickens (do it!!), and you'll read about beef and milk -- and then you'll need a farm. <g> Seriously, I am increasignly horrified at how degraded our food supply has become. Between the filth, the unsanitary conditions, the pesticides and herbicides, the routine (indiscriminate use of) antibiotics, the lack of nutrients in the soil, the GE crops, sugar and/or aspertame in everything -- and then we wonder why our children can't concentrate, are hyperactive, antisocial, etc. Or why nobody's actually healthy. Or about all the autoimmune diseases and the mystery diseases. I've seen lists of everyday kinds of foods (all processed, of course) that have GE ingredients. They're everywhere. Basicaly, if almost comes down to it's in a box or bag, don't buy it. Soy and corn are two of the most widely grown GE foods, and they're in virtually everything (in a box or bag). I read somewhere that allergies to soy are way up in those areas where GE soy is common. (Gee, now I'm depressed. <g>) On the BRIGHT side, there are more and more organic farmers, organic producers of eggs, milk and meat, and consumers will become increasingly interested so that the trend continues. The other day I found a terrific sight with a nice state-by-state list of producers of grass-fed (organic) meats -- http://eatwild.com/suppliers.htm Patricia who tried being a vegetarian and whose body didn't like it
