Guest guest
Hi Amanda, Here is a basic food program to get you started. Food Program 1. Don't make any drastic changes immediately. A dramatic change could cause you some big problems and initiate you going into a major detox and have you getting extremely sick and uncomfortable. It could also bring on an over taxing of your heart which has already been through the grinder from what you've told me. GO SLOWLY ON THIS PROGRAM. 2. Buy a Vegetable juicer if you do not already have one. I recommend a Champion (check the newspapers for a used one, or check out your local healthfood store - about $220 brand new), as they are tougher than nails and will be one item you will hand down to your grandchildren. When I work with people on a one on one, and they don't come back for their second visit owning a juicer, I refuse to work with them. It is that important. 3. What ever food you buy, make sure it is ONLY ORGANIC. I handed out a chart to the list about a month ago (attached at the bottom here again as it is worth reposting) which was from a study that was done by Rutgers University. Trust me on this one, even though Organic may be a little more expensive, at least there is nourishment there. Sometimes commercially grown veggies and fruit are completely void of certain minerals and trace elements that are vital to health. In the same breath, buy only ALL NATURAL MEATS AND ASK YOUR GROCER FOR A GUARANTEE THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN IRRADIATED. Believe it or not, they can label meat as being "natural" and yet get away with irradiating it and not label it as such. The hormones and antibiotics that they use in today's commercial meat processing in nothing short of criminal and is making America a nation of sickies. I can't overemphasize this enough. ONLY BUY ORGANIC!!! 4. These are the "DON'TS" which I do not expect you to quit cold turkey, but to gradually, very gradually cut back on: A. NO WHITE SUGAR (Raw honey, Stevia, and maple syrup are acceptable sweeteners) B. NO WHITE FLOUR (Whole wheat and whole grain flours are best. Ezekiel bread made with sprouted grains is awesome) C. NO WHITE SALT (Light gray all natural celtic sea salt is the only kind I recommend) D. ABSOLUTELY NO CAFFEINE (includes coffee, black tea, or any kind of soda pop) E. NOTHING MADE WITH HYDROGENATED OILS. (Replace these with cold pressed oils) F. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL. 5. These are the "DO's": START OFF SLOWLY!!! A. TRY TO MAKE YOUR BREAKFAST A FEAST OF RAW ORGANIC FRUITS AND FRUIT JUICES. MIX ALL YOUR FRUIT JUICES WITH 50% DISTILLED WATER. (Eat all the fruit you want) B. TRY TO CUT BACK ON ONE OF YOUR COKES OR COFFEES A DAY (at least make them smaller portions) UNTIL YOU'VE QUIT ALTOGETHER. EVERY TIME YOU FEEL LIKE A COKE OR A COFFEE, EAT A PIECE OF FRUIT BEFORE YOU DRINK IT, OR HAVE SOME FRESHLY SQUEEZED FRUIT JUICE INSTEAD. C. LUNCH AND DINNER: START THESE TWO MEALS WITH A BIG RAW ORGANIC SALAD, AND THEN EAT WHATEVER AND AS MUCH AS YOU WANT OF IT. . . the idea being that the salad will give you the nourishment you need and fill you up to a point where physically you just can't eat as much of the junk as before. D. BUY ONLY ORGANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6. Throw every aluminum pot you own away immediately. Do it now. Use only stainless steel or glass cookware. Aluminum is deadly. Don't wait on this one. Do it now!!! 7. Drink at least 16 oz. of distilled water a day. 8. Mental Health Program addition: A. STOP WATCHING TV, ESPECIALLY THE NEWS. You shouldn't eat garbage, so why allow it into your mind. B. LOOK UP OR MAKE UP AND POST TO THIS LIST AT LEAST ONE JOKE EVERY DAY. C. HELP SOMEONE ELSE OUT IN SOME WAY ONCE A DAY. As time goes by, and when we get you started on the herbal program, we will fine tune the above. However, if you did nothing but the above and an exercise program, and slowly got rid of the junk food diet, you'd end up in awesome condition. Much love, Ian PS. The Rutgers University study attachment is at the bottom.
Guest guest
Dear Amanda, I can work around every curve you've thrown at me below except the "NO JUICER". You can get a really dynamite juicer combo at Sam's Club for only $40. You can sometimes pick up used "Champions" for under a hundred if you check around. I've seen juicers go at yard sales for a song. I know, cause my wife is the Yard sale Queen of Clearwater and she picked up an almost new used Champion for $75 at one of them and then sold it to a friend who had been looking for one but couldn't afford the entire enchilada brand new. You need to get creative here and "make it go right" to get one. Now, I'm very adamant here. I was going to work on your herbal, vitamin, etc, (bio chemical) program tonight and post it when done, but I feel that this might be a wasted effort if you don't get that juicer. I feel that strongly about it. It is probably the most critical part of your entire food program. I'll make you a deal. Buy that juicer tomorrow morning, and I'll post your herbal program tomorrow night, AND send you a chocolate bar (Organic of course). Love, Ian zimmermann wrote: Dear Ian... Thank you for the permission to go slowly... I really dislike change... Ha ha.I had already intended to do so... mainly because I wish to get my family to make changes as well... with as little 'trauma' as possible. (My husband is the most resistant... and is incredibly healthy dispite eating like he lives at the state fair. You know... everything processed, deep fried, and on a stick. LOL!!!)A juicer...I hope you won't refuse to speak to me if it takes me a while to find one. I will check the paper for a second hand one. I will warn you that it is likely that even if I do find one it will be June before I can afford it... as we are saving till it hurts so that we can move to a house with a yard. Considering that my stress level will go down when we do that... and my activity will go up... and the possiblity of growing some organic stuff... I think you will be ok with the trade off. BTW... I will also tell you that I am taking a major step by even considering buying one... as I have always seen them as a yuppy frivolity. So bear with me... my brain is having trouble converting...LOL.Organic foods... How ever will I find organic foods? We don't even have a decent produce market. The local groceries may carry a couple of items that are organic... as a novelty I think. I will start calling around... perhaps I will get lucky. I am thinking I can get natural meats from one of the butcher shops? When the farmers markets open in the summer there are some organic growers... so at least part of the year I can get good stuff. Well I will let you know what I find. BTW... I could not open the attachment... I think my comp is just too old. Or my version of excel.Sugar questions...Whats wrong with white sugar? What is stevia? How do I know if its raw honey? How do I afford maple syrup?(just kidding... I love the stuff... and you just gave me an excuse to use it a bit more. I actually helped my daddy make it ourselves once as a kid!) Flour Questions...What about unbleached?Does anyone have a clue about bread flour? I usually buy that instead of regular because I make my own bread a lot. That bread with sprouts sounds interesting... got a recipe??(This will not be a difficult adjustment for me. My husband says the bread or cereals of my dreams would contain oat hulls and wheat chaff.... LOL. I do love grains.) Hydrogenated oils...This is actually a pet peeve of mine... and always has been. I have used it... but sparingly.I cannot understand why they put it in so many foods! It is in my mind the most horrid compound in our food supply. I have a question about its replacement... what do you use in recipes that call for a solid shortning? And don't tell me no one on the list eats biscuits or pie crust. I have been using real butter or (don't freak) pork fat renderings. My reasoning is... I don't use it often... very infrequently... and its got to be better than crisco fot the body. I use canola or olive for most oil needs.White salt...This will be a tough one. I will try to find the alternatives.CAFFEINEOk Ian... honesty time now. I will never give this up. I have chosen it as my alternative to stimulant meds for my attention deficit problem. I just don't think that caffeine is a bad thing. I will also never give up Tea. I love tea. It is one of my simple pleasures. I will look into better types or brands or whatever.... but I won't get rid of it. I will give up pop for the most part. or at least limit it to 'treat' status. But thats the best I can do. Call it a vice... call it a weakness... whatever. Do you know that I feel better when I am drinking caffeine? It makes me think clearer and get frustrated less. Ok now if you want to holler at me go ahead... I can take it. LOLNo alcohol... no problem. The DO's....Gotcha on the fruit and juice...Will filtered water do for now? I have a pur filter on the fawcet. I always thought it was enough....I am already replacing SOME fo my caffeine. I love salad... any kind... any way. Finding organic is gonna be the really hard part. I need a greenhouse! I will take your advice on the salad. Its a good idea... and right up my alley.I don't use aluminum pans. I do like cast iron... is that a no no? TV...I am a Trekkie... so I watch Star Trek... I don't enjoy the news... and I do love Discovery channel, TLC, and HGTV. I watch very little TV for the most part. I do watch PBS with the kids in mornings. I agree that most of TV is absolutely immoral. But it is a terrific teaching resourse some of the time. Joke each day... You asked for it. I actually like that 'perscription'. I am a helper by nature.... so helping others is something I do all the time. Ok. I guess that covers that... and thank you for EVERYTHING and for being so supportive. I am getting excited about it. ThanksAmanda
