Guest guest
I get terrible, terrible, headaches what I have been taking is feverfew and ginko bilboa during the day and I take Valerian(capsules) and Chamomile Tea at night to help me relax and sleep. These seem to help somewhat.. Another thing I use is magnets...I found some that are earrings. They are hoop shaped with little balls on each end and they fit inside of the ear. This seems to help better then any thing that I have ever tried. No prescriptions or over the counter drugs have ever helped me.. I used St. Johnswort for awhile and it did help. I can't remember how much I took. The only thing is , is that it made my eyes really sensitive to the light. I hope this helps. ~Wendy - <hurt1965 <herbal remedies > Saturday, August 07, 1999 11:30 PM [herbal remedies] needing info > hurt1965 > > i was wondering if someone could share with me what you can use for migranes? and is st. johns wort good for depression and how much of these do you take if you capsulize them yourself. i have taken other herbs and am really wanting to learn how to use them for my family. thanks for any info you can share with me. hurt > > --------------------------- ONElist Sponsor ---------------------------- > > Get 25 percent off all alternative health products when you enter coupon > code ONELIST27 at www.healthshop.com (no minimum or maximum purchase). > <a href= " http://clickme./ad/healthshop2 " >Click Here</a> > www.healthshop.com - the world's most complete natural health store > > ------ > Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: > 1. A couple of capsules a day, taken one at a time with a meal. It make take a month or so for the feverfew to significantly reduce migraine frequency and severity. Guest guest
One common cause is magnesium deficiency, which can be corrected. It's critical to identify what causes your migraines in order to determine appropriate treatments. The most common causes seem to be stress, depression, food or environmental allergies, hormonal fluctuations, and sensitivity to stimulants, foods, or drugs. For some people, certain foods can trigger migraines by causing allergic reactions or by upsetting the biochemistry of the brain and blood vessels. An elimination diet or diet diary can be extremely helpful in identifying the culprits. Chronic pain could be caused by foods containing the amino acid tyramine, such as chocolate, liver and other organ meats, alcohol, milk, aged cheeses, sour cream, vinegar in relishes, dressing or catsup, yogurt, citrus fruits, onions, hot dogs and luncheon meat (which contain nitrites), fatty foods, seafood, monosodium glutamate (MSG found in Chinese food), and caffeine. These are the most common allergenic foods: dairy products(cow's milk, goat's milk, cheese, yogurt, butter), wheat( breads, pasta, cereals, etc.), chocolate, nuts and peanuts, tomatoes, onions, corn, apples, bananas, eggs, meats (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish, etc.) and citrus fruits. And the food additive benzoic acid, which appears in many packaged and processed foods. Have you tryed using music or acupressure?
