Guest guest
This comes up every once in a while so I thought I'd post it. The best way to calculate dosages is to read a label and find out what the normal dosage is and then apply the " Over 150 Rule " . If a child or a small man or woman weighs only a 100 pounds then you will see that if you put 100 over 150 = 100/150 that this fraction will break down to 2/3 of a dosage. The same dosage for a child who weighs 50 pounds would be 50/150 = 1/3 dosage and so on. The reverse is also true. A 300 pound man or woman would take twice the dosage of a regular person as in 300/150 = 2 X's the amount. Now a baby who weighs 15 pounds would get a 1/10th dosage but depending on the condition I was trying to handle, I might start off even lighter. IE. There are approx. 35 drops to a dropperful and where I would give the above equation to a 2 to 10 year old, I would look at it this way with a baby. A 15 pound baby who might get a 1/10th dosage of 3.5 drops, I'd start out with 1 drop only, to see how the baby was taking to it. Children and babies in particular respond exceedingly well and very quickly to herbal remedies. The rule of thumb is that a " little goes a long way with Kids " , you can always increase dosages after you have seen what progress you are making. Don't get timid though, most people's breaking point is 400 times higher than what you might think it is. Hope this helps. Ian
