Guest guest
Ian, I have a zillion messages in my inbox and am slowly sorting through them, thus the delay. There are various herbs used for the nervous system depending on what the disorder is. What's happening in that area? ? ? Lori replies: Well, I have heard that the two causes behind hyperthyroidism either begin with the nervous system or with an acid/alkaline imbalance in the body. It seems to me intuitively that mine stems from my nervous system. It's a rather complicated issue because there is past life stuff having to do with weight issues and also expression i.e. the throat chakra, but the manifestation in this lifetime started with trembling hands and moodiness. I just can't take much stress anymore and I used to be a currency trader! Well, being a SAHM is at times more stressful that I guess:-) I feel that my nervous system needs to be balanced and nourished and was recommended RE-X for this which is a herbal combination that nutritionally supports the nervous system and encourages the rebuilding of the mylein sheathing of the nervous system. It's ingredients includes: Black cohosh root, Catnip herb, Valerian root, hops flowers, Capsicum fruit, wood betony and passion flower. I haven't picked any of it up yet and am almost out of my T Formula. I am not sure if I should continue with the T Formula or not since I am happy with my weight now, but feel my nerves could use some support. Ian wrote: > Your welcome. I know that you can get Nutritional yeast which is non active in some healthfood stores, but not all. You just have to research it out. We purchase huge quantities of the non-active yeast for use in our SuperFood Formula (data at the end). I am willing to sell it to you if you have problems locating it in your area, at probably a better price. Let me know. Lori asks: Well, is the non-active one I find in my local health food stores called Red Star Nutritional yeast the same as the nutritional yeast you recommended? > > I have bulk Burdock root in the cupboard to make a decoction. Ok, I am making a herbal apothecary next year with herbs from our garden so we will have plenty of fresh tinctures. Do you recommend vodka or brandy as the base? Also, I would like to be able to use it for my toddler, what non-alcohol bases would you recommend? Ian wrote: The last batch we made was picked by my Wildcrafter early in the morning, shipped over/night UPS the same morning and was in my tincture jars by noon the next day. It is so potent that your mouth is numb for a half hour after you take it and you just can't stop salivating. Lori replies: Sounds good! Next time we need some before we have harvested our own, I will keep this in mind. Ian wrote: > That's good on the garlic. I've included a little recipe (called SuperTonic) at the end of the SuperFood data which you can make up in your sink if you have to. Very simple and totally effective. Lori replies: thanks for the information! Ian wrote: > Add enough distilled water to cover the amount of fresh herb you are using in a small pot and simmer on low heat for 20 -30 minutes. Place hot in muslin cloth over the affected area after pressing out excess water. Cover with plastic or oilcloth to keep fomentation warm and moist. Another method would be to dip a turkish towel or gauze or similar material in the liquid, lightly wring it out so it doesn't run over the body and place over affected area. Then cover with plastic as above. Does the herb have to be fresh? I might have problems getting it fresh this time of year. How do I get the plastic to stay on while I am sleeping? Kind regards and many thanks, Lori
