Guest guest
Love the 1611 King James Version...alongside it the modern versions seem watery.. >>>Why buy books?I spent the last 10 years of my life wasting my money on books. Now I read only 1 book: The 1611 King James Bible. I absolutely love it!I have no religious teaching and was brought up an atheist on a farm. I don't go to any church or profess any religion or whatever. I just read the bible! It is so entertaining and makes me laugh, cry, romantic, love, strong, humble, motivated, innocent, good etc.I wake up in the morning and read and usually before I go to sleep I read again. This is just my opinion but I have found the Old Testament to be more for men to read and the New Testament for women. Makes sense because there are only 2 types of human beings, men and women. The Old Testament has many stories of strength and male spirit of abruptness. The new testament seems more graceful and poetic, more suited for women. My opinions and experiences of course!<<<

I have only read part of the NIV bible before I understood that there were different bibles. You are right, it has much too modern languauge. The 1611 King James is perfect. I also like the fact the King James is public domain. All the new bibles are copyrighted and in changing the words, they not only ruin a great book, they make large amounts of money doing so. That is what all the other bible version are all about; copyrighting and making money. > > > >>>Why buy books? > > I spent the last 10 years of my life wasting my money on books. > > Now I read only 1 book: The 1611 King James Bible.
