Guest guest
So tomorrow I will begin to cut down on food intake and keep to fresh fruits and veges, ready for the fast on Monday. For a relitavely short fast (just 5 days, unless I decide more at that point) you don't really need to prepare too much in my experience. If it's the 1st time, this may be more important. It makes hunger pains easier and mentally prepares you better. I must say...and I understood this just recently when a few old friends and I met up for the 1st time in years...that regular fasting does keep you looking young. I'm only 27 now...but in my friends say I look younger now than I did at school or university. I think I see what they mean. Ofcourse there are other factors too...exercise increase, healthier diet...less alcohol and crazy nights out!!! But there's something in it. My skin it very elastic and I never have breakouts...fasting really is amazing. When I did a 10 day fast...I was living in a temple so it was easier in terms of lifestyle and work...I felt amazing. My skin was glowing, my hair and nails were amazing ...my teeth where whiter. And when I started taking food again..fruits...I felt instantly energized because my digestive system was so clean. On the downsides, some people have to be careful not to get addicted to fasting. Yes, the results are great, but we have to use fasting as a way to propell our eating/lifestyle habits into something better...it's not good fasting then going back to greasy fatty foods and too much beer...then fasting again. So actually, the week after the fast is more important and dangerous than any time during the fast. Just some words about fasting. Maybe it can help someone. I will write a journal about my fast next week. Om
