Guest guest
Hello, I'm so happy to find this group as I'm new to juice fasting. To tell you about myself. I'm 32, married with 3 children whom I homeschool. I love to garden, crochet, read, etc. I am a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. I don't eat that much dairy or eggs...sometimes I go weeks without any but I do on occasion. I love eating raw veggies though I do steam many of them as my intestines don't seem to like the raw veggies that much....hopefully this fast will help with that. I'm on day 10 of juice fasting. This is the first time I've done a long fast....I've done 1 day water fasts. I started to have some real problems with pain in my joints...arthritis runs big in my family and I read that doing a long juice fast can help. Of course I was 90lbs overweight before I started the fast...so I'm sure that didn't help. The first week was actually not all that bad. I was amazed at how much water weight I lost. I kept running to the bathroom all day and night long. By the end of the week I had lost 15lbs. I guess the first day that I felt bad was day 5 and even then it was just a little lack of energy. Day 7 and 8 I started to have some heartburn and nausea. I only drank one glass of fruit juice on day 8 and by day 9 I felt sooooo much better. I did drink a half a glass of veg. juice yesterday and almost immed. I began to get nauseous again. Do you think it would be ok if I stuck with just doing 1 fruit juice a day and leaving out the veggies? I've tried diff. combos of veggies...and a wide variety of veggies at that but none of them taste very good to me and seem to make me sick. The first couple of days they were ok but now I don't look forward to drinking them. The other thing is I've maintained the 15 lbs weightloss for 3 days now. I checked to see how many calories was in the juice I was drinking and that would come to about 300 calories. Any ideas as to why the scale hasn't budged? I kept up with my gardening and exercising and yesterday my daughter and I went to the pool for a few hours. Do you think that I'm retaining water again? I haven't had to go to the bathroom as often for the past few days. I'm making sure that I drink atleast 10 glasses of water aside from the juice I'm drinking. Should I increase the amt of water? Although, I have to admit that even though I've always drank water...now with this fast it seems that water makes me nauseous too. Thanks so much for any info or ideas you all could give. ~Elizabeth
