Guest guest
I am on day 8 of fasting. My longest fast was last summer and it lasted 17 days. I am not sure how long this fast will last, maybe the same.

Guest guest
I did a five day juice fast and ten had a smoothie, one baby carrot dipped in ranch dressing my daughter wanted me to taste (new dressing we bought last week). I am back on my juice fast and plan to go nine more days until Sunday after next. I told my daughter about it and that I could not taste just a bite of anything for these nine days and she understands now. It is harder for me to make my husband vegan foods I like because I want to eat them. When I cook him Salmon and things I do not eat because I am vegan, I don't even get hungry. I don't feel hunger, it is more like the habit of tasting everything or sharing a vegan smoothie with him. I am feeling a little left out, but made the smoothie today and put the other half in the refrigerator for him to have later today. On the other hand, I love the mental clarity, assertiveness, awareness and creativity I feel. And, I love that everyone else is sweating in the heat and I feel like it is just the right temp for me. Summertime is the easiest time to fast for me due to the heat. I look forward to hearing from others about their current or past or future plans on fasting. Guest guest
I am juice fasting and I only had two colon eliminations by drinking salt water as recommended in the master cleanse (besides the normal BM's in the first day or two). I am on a vegetable juice fast and I wonder what are suggestions or ideas about having a bowel movement while fasting. I prefer no enemas, or colonics, but did buy the senna tea that should come just about when my fast is nearly over. I plan to dilute the tea to ease any possible discomfort with reactions to the tea. BTW, my aunt had multiple sclerosis and had to have a lady come to her house three times a week with an electric hand held instrument that stimulated her bowels into having a bowel movement. Guest guest
I read somewhere that we shouldn't worry about bowel movements during a juice fast because through the proces of fasting, while our bodies are repairing and cleaning---the harderned "stuff" in our colon will start to losen and then when we are ready to come off the juice fast and start introducing raw foods that the fiber from the raw foods will remove all of that stuff. Some people recommened a raw food diet for at least one week prior to starting a juice fast. Eliminating meat and processed and only eating raw will help cleanse out a lot of the colon ---then you can fast---and then break the fast with raw foods again. I am looking for the link to a really informative juicing forum that like--when I find it I will post it.
