DAY 9 water and tea fast

Hello there1

just reporting my progress. Im on day nine now of my fast...Ive kind of

lost track of how long I'm going for!! I started thinking 14 days, then

changed it to 7 and now I've just decided to see how I feel.

A couple questions:

1) Today, as usual I've drank plenty plenty of green tea, roobios tea,

chrisanthumum tea nd water. But unlike other days today I've had some

Diarrhia which I found quite strange. Ive been having movements

(normal) every couple days or so...but today is very very watery. Why

is this.

My instinct tells me this is a good thing, I feel like Im really clean

inside now...but Im just wandering if someone could explain WHY to me?

2) Im becoming a bit confusued because of so amny mixed messages on the

internet. Please clarify if you can. Im a sports person, my job demands

me to be very fit which I try to be. I have plenty of lean muscle and

also a little extra fat on me(healthy woman fat i mean). Im under the

impression that during a short term fast like mine 14 days or so, the

body will use fat stores as a supply of energy rather than muscle. As I

understand it the body will NOT use needed tissues until its ACTUALLY

starving which would be a LONG time for me.

However, so amny sites on the internet say fasting is not healthy

because the body burns muscle to survive and that if you loose weight

in fasting its just muscle and you will get fat when you stop fasting.

Personally I think these are just scare tacticts by people who dont

have the strength to fast, are scared of fasting or who are trying to

promote some costly diet plan/suppliment etc.

Am I right or wrong...or neither!!!

Please clarify if you can

I thank you for your time

Best wishes

Kayte

Hi Kayte, I am new to fasting so I don't have any answers but I do have some of the same questions you do. I am excitedly awaiting a reply to your post. I stopped water fasting and started drinking only freshly made juice and vegetables because I was reading the same info you were about water fasts. But I tend to over do it on the juice. I am feeling really depressed and I am actually obese now (have been thin all my life until after I had baby #4- 5 years ago. Now I am fat and have aches and pains which make me more and more sedentary. I feel so toxic and I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore. Anyway, I am rambling--I am not only looking to lose weightbut I am looking for an entire lifestyle change. I took my health and looks for granted and now I want it back! Hello

I can understand your worries. Firstly, congratulation on having the gift of a child...so many people also take this ability for granted!

You can slowly change your lifestyle by moving the body. The body needs to be moved. Seriously, i am a very active person, but 2-3days days without activity and I feel depressed, unhealthy and gross. The first thing and the smallest thing you can do is to move the body, a long w al k,a short fast walk. Focus on your breathing, realise how lucky you are to be breathing!!(another thing we can take for granted!!) Im certain you can begin to feel better by moving the body.

If you are very overweight, how about just focusing of eliminating certain food from your diet first...for example sugary and fatty foods. Make a lsit of what you're NOT going to eat over the next week and enjoy everything else in smaller portions. It may be too much strain on your body to just cut out everything all atr once, and it could cause mental stress too which is NOT good during fasting anyway.

I think by getting control over simple aspects of your lifestyle 1st, like going for a long walk every day and eliminating certain foods from you diet for a couple weeks would be a brilliant start. Your will power and confidence will improve. After this period you can add more and more little things and eventually do a fast.

This way, you can gently ease the toxins out of your body and after say, 6-8weeks of eating better and exercising more, the body will be in a better state for fasting. Dont panic and want so fast results, dont remember being thin in the past, just think about today..NOW and how you can change today.

I'm sorry I dont know all thenaswers but Im sure that you can make positive changes in your life starting today with moving your body in a way you feel comfortable...walking, swimming, stepping....perhaps incorporate your child into the exercise, kids love walking in the park??

Best wishes

The watery stool is normal. It is part of the detox. Mine is dark

reddish. I would not worry about the watery stool. Detoxing can't get

rid of everything in the urine.

You will know when you start to lose muscle. You will feel real hunger.

Ravishing hunger, not the kind we usually have.

Hello Kayte, If you can, please read the book "Fasting and Eating for Health - A Medical Doctor's Program for Conquering Disease" written by Joel Fuhrman, M.D. In this book you will find the answers to all of your questions.
