Guest guest
Hello! I'm currently nearing the end of day 6 of my fast. I've bee drinking huge amounts of chrisanthunum tea which seems to really help me...tea pots and tea pots of the stuff!!! Its really cold where I am so the warm water is great for me. It's true that after the 4th day things seem to change and get easier. Yesterday day 5, I felt a very joyous feeling and seemed to have more energy especially socially. Today I feel great again. The tummy still rumbles and I occasionally think about food biut I feel like this is easy now. I plan to go at least until wednesday morning which will be 7 days (just over)...Initially I planned 14 day but am slightly worried about it because of my very strenuous training programme. It's been ok so far, but I can definatly feel it more. I mean in terms of endurance. I get more tired more easily..not that it stops me!! LOL. Today I have some natural organic locally produced(in this temple actually) honey which Ive added to my tea. It's great! I appreciate it sooo much. I know perhaps honey is not supposed to be part of fasting, but this whole thing has become much more than about the word 'fasting' and the rules. I'm being natural, just going with what my body feels and it feels great! Im getting a bit of an achey back, around the shoulders at the back in the middle...not sure why but yoga sorts it out temporarily. Any ideas what this is?? I'm beginning to wander how much weight Ive lost, but I wont weigh myself just yet because in past experiences Ive found that if I check my weight too much it becomes 'a thing' and it becomes what its all about and that is not why Im fasting. I can def feel a difference in my clothes and see a difference in my face. It feel great. So I wander how much longer I will go on like this?? I think many of you will agree, there becomes a stage where you feel like you could keep going for ever!! I hope everyone is doing well out there Spirits up Best wishes Warm reguards Kayte
Guest guest
Hi Kayte Thanks for sharing all that. It sounds like you're doing great. I like how you said about listening to your own body and deciding for yourself what is right for you. There will always be someone out there who says they know the "right" way to do it, but the truth is that you are the only one who knows your body/mind/spirit. We can't go by other people's expectations or other people's choices. I think you are handling this the best way possible. I agree -there is a point where it feels like the fast could last forever. That is such an incredible feeling and a great reward for getting through those initial days that feel like they LAST forever! I remember reading once about how we tend to put numbers on how long we are fasting (number of days), but the body doesn't know about numbers. The body knows what it needs and sometimes we tend to push toward a particular number when the body is actually ready to end the fast earlier OR would be better suited going longer. On my longest fast (juice), the longer I went, the longer I thought I could go. Toward the end of it I was aiming for 70 days, but by day 67 I knew that it was time to stop. What is the number, anyway, except something we tell other people? So I encourage you to keep doing what you're doing, listening to your body and you will know when it is time to make a change. It was great to read about what you're doing and I hope you will share your progress again another time. Guest guest
YOu could go on a long time. The worst thing is the missing food and missing the feeling of eating. You actually feel much better on a fast. Best Regards, Robert Ratliff Ask me about retirement in Panama. 817 789 6276 We were made to fast. Guest guest
Thanks. It was an amazing experience. That was about ten years ago and I would love to do that again sometime, when the time is right. Guest guest
Hi! Im only on day 7..I feel great but 67 days...eeeek!!! Im sure its more than possible but as I am a very dedicated martial arts student training to be an instructor..I think this might be some dangerous!! Its important for me to keep my physical strength and skill as a martial artist and trainer. But wow that's an amazing story of strength. --- On Tue, 15/1/08, Rachel D <faithful2finish wrote: Rachel D <faithful2finishRE: 6th day water and tea fast Date: Tuesday, 15 January, 2008, 12:59 AM Thanks.
