Happy new year to all!

After 2-3 seven day fasts over the last 18months,I'm starting a 14

day fast on tea (herb) and water tomorrow wednesday.

I would like advice from others who have completed a 14day fast who

have also maintained their active lifestyle during this time.

I live in a buddhist temple where we learn martial arts, so it's a

great setting up a mountain..but, I must continue with my training. I

can, ofcourse choose to practise the less dynamic and energetic parts

of our martiala art during this time.

I've heard mixed reports about training and fasting together. Some

say a little weight training and moderate exercise is excellent

during fasting becasue it keeps your metabolism up and working and

muscles in good shape in terms of tone.

Some say its dangerous and you should just rest.

Im guessing I have to just see how my body reacts and feels and act

upon that.

I wonder if anyone who stayed pretty active during their fast could

share some advice with me. Or does any one have real scientific

knowledge/information about exercise/weight training during a fasting

period of 14 days.

Well, it's nice to know Im not alone. I hope you all have peace in

your minds and hearts while fasting this year.

Blessings

Best wishes

Kayte

You may run out of energy fast, even though you will feel more

energetic. The body can't pull energy out of the cell very fast. That is

why light exercise is fine but heavy would be hard to do.

I would recommend the Master Cleanser, it is closer to a water fast than most other juice fasts and still gives the calories for sustaining activity and energy. If you are unfamiliar with it check amazon.com for the book. Also the new book titled "The Complete Master Cleanse" is a good resource w/ more in depth testimonials and explanation.

What I recommend is if you are not under a doctor's care and you are on

an extended fast you supplement with maple syrup or molasses. The only

problem I Can find for fasting is a lack of vitamin K(Potassium). It

regulates the heart. Molasses is high in vitamin K. Too low a vitamin K

and the heart can stop.

Hi

I've done a water fasting for 9 days last year and I swam 1.500m every day, very slowly. It was great. Warm water in the pool kept my body warm during the exercise.
