Guest guest
Anybody up to doing a fast immediately after Thanksgiving starting on Nov 23rd? (More specificly, Thanksgiving night after dinner) I'm not sure how long I'm gonna go for it ( a week or so) but I would like to start a fresh juice fast on that day and switch to raw foods for a while after that. I sure could use a fasting buddy that wants to start at the same time. Anybody? I have done fasts before but it has been a while. I have done water fasts, fresh juice fasts, and raw foods fasts. My water fast was the longest. I went 8 days while I was moving my family to a new home. I was just too busy hauling boxes and furniture to care too much about not eating. And I thought a fast would take away my strength and energy....NOT. I liked losing a pound a day doing that. I'll bet the heavier you are when you start a fast, the faster you lose pounds. I have a lot of toxic build-up because I have totally given in to the snackfood monster in me for a while. I'm really feeling it lately. I'm 41 and I weigh 153 pounds (size 12). My normal weight most of my life was 115 (size 3). I'd like to get closer to that old standard or at least go back down a couple sizes. But even more, I want to feel better and be healthier. I feel like a tired slug these days - especially after an entire bag of (fill in the blank with the name of the junkfood I devoured huge amounts of on any given night). I am Kandy and I am a sugar and carbo-holic just as my name might suggest. I can do fasts and not cheat, but it's the part AFTER the fast that I have trouble with. One has to continue to eat healthy or else the weight comes right back and invites friends. That's why I want to follow up with a period of raw foods only - to get my system over the cravings and the habit of junk hopefully. Guest guest
I have been thinking about doing that. My last effort for a 3 week fast lasted 9 days. I need to do a lot more fasting. Guest guest
Kandy, I need to fast also, as it has been since the beginning of the year. I have done plenty of juice fast with my longest lasting 60 days. I love it. It is sometimes hard just starting. I would be able to start on Monday.
