Guest guest
Well, I've started doing some writing in preparation for this next cleanse/fast. I have never really done this before other fasts, but I feel like it is extra important for this one. In " The Fasting Path " , the author suggests, among other things, writing about goals for the fast (physical, emotional and spiritual) and also about fears about fasting. I don't have any fears about the physical aspects of fasting because I have been through it before. I didn't think I really had any regarding the emotional or spiritual either, but the writing revealed some things to me. This will help me be prepared for my internal resistance when it happens, so it's good to become aware of it before the fast starts. Next on my list is creating a plan for what I want my days to be like during the fast. I am working full time and also in school (just one course, but it is an accelerated program so there is usually a good amount of work involved). I want to journal regularly through the fast, so I need to plan in time for that daily. I would also like to start swimming, as a mild exercise that I could do throughout the fast. I don't want to overdo it, but I also want to make the most of the time. So I am trying to establish a schedule that has balance. I would be interested to hear from anybody else about fears you've dealt or how you've prepared for a fast - physically/emotionally/spiritually - or ways that you have adjusted your life routine during a fast. Thanks in advance! Rachel
