Hi Elia

I just wanted to recommend this book for anybody who is planning a

complete fast. It is called " The Fasting Path " by Stephen Harrod

Buhner. It is the most comprehensive, enlightened book about fasting

that I have read so far. He covers not just the physical, but also

the spiritual and emotional elements of fasting. There is a great

deal of information about what one can expect on the complete fast

and explanations about how the body works during a fast.

I have read a number of books about fasting over the years, but this

one is by far the most informative. I have wanted to do a complete

fast for a long time now. The longest fast I ever did was 67 days

(about ten years ago), but that was a juice fast. It was very

beneficial and I'm glad I did it, but I have wanted to do a complete

fast at some point. Reading this book is helping me to understand

why I have been putting it off and is giving me more motivation to

get to it!

I have had a couple of what I used to call " false starts " to fasting

recently. I don't see them as false starts anymore, but more like

preliminary starts or something. I know I will start when I am ready

for it and I can see how these preliminary starts have taught me

things, and so they have been a necessary part of the process.

I look forward to the fast more than ever before and hope to share

the journey out here with you all.

Wishing everyone a healthy day!

Rachel

If you go to www.half.com you will find it for much less than the

cost of a bookstore.

This book is helping me to prepare for the upcoming fast in a way

that I never have before and it has given me cause to think about a

lot of different things.

I'm not sure how much of it to share out here because I don't have a

good sense of the parameters of the group yet, but I can

wholeheartedly recommend the book. :-)
