Guest guest
Yes! I agree, I agree! This all makes sense to me! Have you gotten my last post?! I sure am hoping to receive some good feedback and support from this group on my newly started fast. I re-posted my post, below. Perhaps it didn't reach this group the first time?? Here it is again, regardless: Hi Everybody ~ After doing a search in , I am sending this out to several groups that I have recently joined, to see what kind of feedback and replies that I get. Then I will go from there as to which groups are going to be compatible for me, with what I have in mind. I know that some of you will probably disagree with some, or all of what I am going to say here - and thats alright; hopefully we can "agree to disagree" because the last thing that I need right now is any strong negativity/criticism/harsh judging of what I am wanting to accomplish here. OK, here it is, bottom line: I am struggling to become free of nicotine - yes, you read that right - nicotine. This struggle is nothing new to me; I am considered a "professional quitter" and have used about all of the NRT'S that are available (Nicotine Replacement Therapies, such as the patch, gum, inhalers, etc.) with and without prescriptions from my doctor. I have done and tried it all, and I am still smoking. I get severe chronic bronchitis on a regular basis (usually at least once a year) and have to be on nebulizers, steroids, etc.; sometimes I am so sick that they want to hospitalize me, and I am still smoking. My doctors have told me that I am borderline emphesema/copd, and I am still smoking. Well, you get the picture here. I am a hard core addict, pure and simple. I have never tried quitting cigarettes cold turkey - I have always been much too afraid. Well, now I am changing my thoughts on this. I am sick of spending money or NRT'S, and here I am, still smoking. Perhaps some of you can understand my frustration, indeed, desperation. And because cold turkey is one thing that I have never considered trying, I am now to the place where I believe that I am ready to try it. Now, for those of you who are not familiar with nicotine addiction, you will not relate to my struggles, my repeated quit attempts, nor my sadness and frustration with it. And that is OK; please bear with me here. I also need to lose weight, and detox from food addictions - I am around 65 pounds or so overweight (according to my height and bone structure) - due to food addictions. My goal weight, indeed, my healthy weight, should be at around 135 pounds. One of my deciding factors is the fact that right now, I am not working - and I can devote all of my energies, indeed, 100%, to an extended water fast. This fast will be to detox myself from nicotine, and also to detox from my unhealthy eating habits. In essence, to detox from the havoc that has been put inside of my body and mind from both of these unhealthy addictions I am turning to fasting as a way of dealing with both of these issues in my life - Nicotine addiction, and Food addiction. I have decided to begin an extended water fast. I have never attempted anything like this before - not only an extended water fast, but to go cold turkey from nicotine at the same time. Do-able? I want to find out! The way that I am thinking is, an extended water fast will be the best way for me to detox, the fastest way, and the healthiest and safest way. I am not living in "la la land" here; I know that taking on an extended water fast needs to be done correctly, etc. to be safe and to produce the results that I am after. This is why I have joined groups such as this one, for information, guidance, and support as I attempt this extended water fast. Please do not come down on me or knock me for what I am wanting to do. I believe that my reasons are solid and intelligent reasons. And the thing of it is, that RIGHT NOW, when I am not working, and can devote 100% of my energies and time to this, is the absolute BEST and IDEAL time to attempt this. Am I right, or what?! I am hoping for some good feedback here. I joined these groups because I feel like I need the information, the guidance, and the support from people who are experienced in extended water fasts, detox, etc. I understand that the results of detox can be pretty overwhelming - and there again, right now is an ideal time for me to attempt this while I am not working. If need be, I can just go to bed if detox becomes too ugly! Thanks for listening. This was a long letter, and for those of you out there who know about this sort of thing, I soooo appreciate your feedback. Juice fasting is better described as juice diet, since it isconcentrated nutrition rather than abstinence from nutrition. Juicefasting is also extremely beneficial, but can not be compared to waterfasting. I also supervise juice fasting / juice diets at my healthretreat. For example juice diets are often used just before and aftertherapeutic (water) fasts. And juice diets can be used when waterfasting is not possible for certain patients.from Dr Cinques website. <a href="http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php?n=3 & r_by=jojo46580%40earthlink.net" alt="PaperBackSwap - Swap your used paperback books with other club members."> Say I sent you!
