Guest guest
Thanks for that. Some of the earlier posts suggested that if I didn't start at 10 days I'd pretty much be wasting my time. I like hearing that the shorter fasts may be beneficial for someone, like me, who wants to start. , " violinmike2002 " <violinmike2002 wrote: > > , " ROBERT RATLIFF " > <bratliff@> wrote: > > > > Agree. Guest guest
I have only been able to fast for 48 to 70 hours at a time. I have done this every week or 2 weeks. I got away from it around the holidays but just got back into it a couple of weeks ago. I water fast. I have noticed that I have felt better overall and I have lost some weight. People have asked me how I have done it and I tell them that I water fast. Most reply “Better you than me.” and when they do I don’t tell them any more. If they looked interested and seemed interested a have advised to look up more info online and if they had any questions I would do my best to answer them. I let them know that I am no expert but I do have some experience. My manager did a 5 day juice fast and it worked really well for her. I plan on doing a 21 day fast sometime this spring or summer and I know that it will be a really big challenge but the more I fast the more I know that I will make it through it fine. I have never tried a juice fast but I know they work well too. Guest guest
Whenever a new thread is started, the originator can't help what direction it goes. I had no intention of being contentious. I just wanted to make sure that it's clear that a juice fast IS a fast. But I'm a newcomer here and if my remarks were perceived as contentious, then please feel free to disregard them. They weren't intended that way. Rachel , " sisyphus_2005 " <sisyphus_2005 wrote: > > Thanks, Rachel. Guest guest
A one day fast is beneficial. Most fasting sources I have read encourage people to start with a one day fast and build up to a longer one. It's very individual. Shorter fasts are very beneficial. Guest guest
<<< In natural hygiene which I follow and you may not have heard of a juice or vegetable fast is never recommended >>> Harvey Diamond didn't include fasting in his Fit for Life book. The closest he comes to prescribing fasting in his book that he called a " high energy day " , in which you ate only fruit. That could be a kind of juice fasting. He gathered info from NH and TC Fry took the ball with what could be presented to the American people and ran with it. He sold over 12 million books. In his latest Fit for life not fat for life he mentions fasting and its benefits- in mice- for 2 paragraphs. If hes a true hygienist then Billy Ray Cyrus is Elvis.
