Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am just starting a juice fast today. I went on a 3 day fast last week to try it out and I really liked it. I will be mixing fruit and veggies in order to make healthy drinks. A few questions are; is soup allowed? What is and where do you find Master Cleanse? How much weight loss is to be expected? Is this a place I can come to for support when I am having weak moments? Can I exercise? I've been doing research online and I purchased the juice lady's book with some great reciepes but if there is anything else I should or need to know that would be wonderful. Also, I am here for anyone else that is fasting at this time. My goal is 12 days, I would like to lose weight and clean out my system. If anyone would like to join me, please do! Thank you! Guest guest
The Master Cleanse is so far the only fast that I have done. It is a fast that uses freshly squeezed lemons, water, maple syrup and cayenne. The advantage to this particular fast is that with the energy from the maple syrup most people can carry on all their regular daily activities, including normal exercise. It is also fairly easy for most because the low glycemic sugar is slow burning and tricks your brain into thinking you are having some food. For this reason hunger pains are not too common at all. There is a site that sells the Master Cleanse book and everything you need http://www.humblebeehealth.com Let us know how you how you end up doing! , "Christie" <cmarley99> wrote:>> Hi everyone,> > I am just starting a juice fast today. Guest guest
Hi Christie There are so many variations of fasting and each person finds what works for them. There are some versions that are very specific, like the Master Cleanse (I think there is probably information about that in the files and others on the list can help you with more specifics), but juice fasting is, in my opinion, a version that allows a lot of room for interpretation. What kind of soup are you thinking of? Some people would not include hot foods at all. Others might include a broth as long as it is strained and just liquid. Weight loss varies by the individual and the type of fast. Definitely come here for support. I'm fairly new here, but I do see that people have posted when they were struggling. I would also highly recommend writing down your motivation and goals and keeping that handy where you can bring it out and remind yourself in those weak moments. (And we all have them.) Exercise is another completely individual thing. I would recommend moderation and just paying VERY close attention to what your body can handle. I know these answers might seem a bit vague and as with anything you read in any email group, take it for what it is - one person's opinion/perspective/experience/suggestions. Do a google search for juice fasting and you will find a plethora of sites with helpful information. You are the only one in this group who knows your body, so you will be the best judge of what works for you and what doesn't. I hope you'll share more about your fast with the group. best wishes, Rachel , " Christie " <cmarley99> wrote: > > Hi everyone, > > I am just starting a juice fast today. Guest guest
I agree Rachel we are all so different. I know this woman that is hypoglycemic and can only tolerate a half juice half water fast. a water fast makes her severly dizzy, but the fruitose in the juice helps her do it. She fasted for a few ailments and had great success with it. Some ailments go away with a 10 day fast , others go away with an extended fast.. All over the world there are fasting clinics, all with different techniques . Some use aincient methods, some modern and some a combination of both. It depends on alot of things. Some people just want weight loss. Some want to gain health. and some like myself want to maintan health. Some swear by daily enemas. Some say ocassional use is good and some say dont use them at all. And some that were very sick and impacted should have used them. Or gotten a colonic. Its personal. I have done all water. I have done half juice and water. I have done vinegar honey and water. i have done Juicy Juice. I have done Misu soup. ( that was to cure a hangover) Its a journey. we all came from different places so i guess the ancwer is different for all of us . but I love hearing everyones experiences, I need to hear it all....... Guest guest
Thank you so much for the info and support!! Yesterday went pretty well until yesterday evening when I was very tired, nauseas and dizzy. I had to go lay down and slept from 7pm until this morning which NEVER happens to me. My hubby had to take care of my little one until it was his bedtime. I am guessing it's my body detoxing? I was sweating alot last night and this morning. As far as soups go, I am thinking broths and/or pureed steamed veggies such as carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. I enjoy having soups and could easily sip on them at night as my "dinner". I have done some research online and found a few great websites. I have heard about a salt water flush, is that strictly for the Master Cleanse? Has anyone else tried it? Well I am on day 2 and feel much better so far. I am having hunger pains here and there but keep drinking tons of water which helps. Thanks again and I will keep udating my progress and questions to all if you don't mind. LOL Have a great day! Guest guest
I am taking vitamins while I am fasting but that is me. I am not sure if you are supposed to or not. I am more comfortable knowing I have taken them. Guest guest
Enema yes, or even a colonic. This was on the advice of my naturopath. vitamins, probably not a great idea as you need food to help assimilate them. , gary okada <soapywaterbag> wrote: > > > Is it okay to take vitamins or have an enema while you are fasting ?
