Guest guest
I will need to have two wisdom teeth removed sometime in the near future. It's possible that I could just wait until after the fast. There is no pain, currently. I have a consultation with the oral surgeon next Wednesday. I know they have people fast before surgery anyway, so that part isn't a problem. My two concerns are about after surgery. The body needs nutrition to help the healing process doesn't it? Also there is the pain after the surgery. I wouldn't want to take pain medication during a fast. Just not sure what to do yet. If I'm going to extend the fast to a longer term one, I would make it a juice fast. Then I'd feel better about getting nutrition after surgery, but I still probably wouldn't want to take the pain meds. Any thoughts? rachel~
Guest guest
I guess I'm going to agree with you. Logic says you may be healthier because of the detox and weight loss, buy may need to get your strength up by eating a while before surgery. The same logic applies for not doing a two fasts back to back. The second fast needs to some amount have time after the first fast. Guest guest
Right before surgery they sometimes request that you fast for a certain number of hours anyway, to reduce the risk of vomiting from the anesthesia (I think that's the reason.) But some sources say that's outdated because anesthesia has developed along the way. Two schools of thought on that, definitely. The other aspect of fasting is that when the body isn't working on digestion it has more energy for other things - like healing. I totally agree that it's best not to do extended fasts back to back. You're starting yours on Sunday, is that correct? rachel~ , " ROBERT RATLIFF " <bratliff@c...> wrote: > > I guess I'm going to agree with you.
