Guest guest
Hi Rene! Good place, I am active in the EWC Alumni, although I graduated from FITCM. EWC has inherited some of FITCM's graduates, and is doing the FITCM teach-out. Guest guest
Greetings all! I hope you're enjoying a safe and healthy holiday season. I joined the group because I'm planning to bring in the new year with a fast and would enjoy having some like-minded individuals to chat with along the way. I look forward to catching up in the archives to see what people are doing or planning to do. This is not my first fast, but it has been a while. I have done fasts of varying lengths and for a while was in the habit of fasting one day a week. That's a habit I would like to resume after this fast is done. I'll share more later - just wanted to send out a greeting now. thanks, rachel~

Guest guest
I think that's very practical. I'm sure it would be a challenge to be fasting while attending parties. Besides, it just draws more attention to the fact that you're fasting because people DO notice when somebody isn't eating at a party. I prefer not to let people know what I'm doing. Too many naysayers out there or well- intentioned people expressing concern when they don't really know anything about fasting. So when is your last party? rachel~ <jhspooner2003> wrote: > > Hin Rachel > So far the holidays have been good. Guest guest
I am planning 10 days, but might go longer. Will decide along the way. One deciding factor might be that I need to have two wisdom teeth removed sometime in the next few weeks. I would think fasting could speed up the healing process - but I'm not sure if there's any reason fasting when having surgery is not a good idea. I need to do some reading about that. If anybody here has any thoughts about that I'd welcome hearing them. rachel~ \<bratliff@c...> wrote: > > How long do you plan on fasting? I plan a long one in Jan. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome, Tim. I had wanted to go to Louisiana and almost did, but for various reasons things didn't work out to go. I know it's not on topic for the group, but if you ever feel like emailing me offlist I would love to hear about what you've been doing. Regarding the fast, I need to start on Sunday instead of tomorrow. I had to go to NJ for a funeral today and thought I would have gotten home much earlier than I did. But I got home late and didn't get to take care of the things I would have liked to. So I'm going to do those things tomorrow and start on Sunday. That's nice, in a way, since others out here seem to be starting on Sunday as well. How much longer will you be in LA? Any plans for fasting in the near future? rachel~ , Tim Campbell <timcall@s...> wrote: > > Welcome to the group Rachel! > > Thanks for sharing your thoughts on fasting...I look forward to hearing more of your opinions... > > I have been in Louisiana doing Katrina-related work and boy do I ever need to fast...I haven't been eating the best diet down here...ugh...These Louisianans do know how to cook! > > New Years blessings and happy fasting to all... > > Tim > 3rd John
