Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just joined yesterday (I think it was yesterday), I just needed a little company and maybe even a little support. Today is day 21 of a water fast and I am feeling slight 'unreality' which is part of my reason for joining, to stay grounded. Well I'm off to read the archives, just wanted to introduce myself first. Guest guest
Jennie, To get to our archives go to our home page and click on "Messages." TimNakotaKaia <nakotakaia wroteHi Tim,Yes I do have that book and I usually read it severaltimes while I'm fasting. Thanks for the compliment! I do 2 long fasts a year and have been eating a rawfood diet for 5 and a half years.I don't know how long this fast will go on, in fact Inever know. I just stop when my hunger returns.Nakota--- Tim Campbell wrote:> Nakota, One other thing...Have you seen the book> "Fasting and Eating for Health" by Joel Fuhrman? It> is excellent. Guest guest
> " nakotakaia " <nakotakaia <<< Today is day 21 of a water fast and I am feeling slight 'unreality' which is part of my reason for joining, to stay grounded. Well I'm off to read the archives, just wanted to introduce myself first. >>> Welcome to the group. I've felt this during shorter fasts and during some kinds of subtle illnesses. But I'd like to look at it this way: The brain as well as the rest of the body benefits from the detoxifying effects of a fast. The toxins which are now being released into your bloodstream and creating this feeling of unreality, are the same toxins that have been in your system for some time, creating this very same sense of unreality to a lesser degree that most people consider normal. The end result of getting these toxins out is to remove this and to wind up with a stronger sense of reality and grounding then you thought possible. I strongly urge you to come out of the fast really gently so that you don't lose these great benefits. I've had this new cleansed and cleared feeling from as little as a 36-hour fast. My nearsightedness seem to lessen as well. Small aches & pains I didn't pay much attention to were strangely absent. Mind you it was like having a stomach flu when fasting, but the next day after breaking it, I had a sense of cleanliness I forgot ever experiencing before. I became a small boy again. Of course I could have made it easier on myself because I drank a full pitcher of coke a day up to the day of fasting. Result: headache from caffeine withdrawal. OUCH! And I could have broken the fast more gently than to go to the IHOP and order a cheeseburger on the evening of the day I broke the fast.
