Guest guest
Well, I eat what grows in my garden right now. I had blueberries I picked and some raspberries with homemade almond milk. I have been eating about two heads of lettuce per day for lunch and dinner with a little Tahama Gold and a few pinenuts. My husband and I have been raw fooders for about 7 years and got rid of our stove 4 years ago. We are 55 & 61 and on no medications, have not had an antibiotic in our house in 21 years and eat only living foods. No grains, no sugar, no salt, no animal products. When we fast, generally the month of February, it is quite easy and our comfort levels are very high with little or no detox. So, that's what we eat - fruits, very few nuts, and lots of leafy greens. Guest guest
Hey Shari, So how long did it take you all to segue comfortably into eating raw? Guest guest
Every Friday, the first entire weekend of the month (F,S,S) and the entire month of February. For the one day and weekend fasts it is only water, nothing else, not even lemon. For the month of February it is vegetable juice for 5 days, water for 18 and vegetable juice for 5 days. Guest guest
Pretty much the same thing, we have a green house. And we supplement with a co-op group. We have a farmer who delivers produce to our house every Tuesday for $21. We have no choice in what is in the box, but it is usually greens and some sort of fruit. Granted it is not all local, but almost 100% of the greens are local. Shari
Guest guest
Comfortable?! Makes me giggle because it's still not always comfortable. It's taken at least 7 years. And I do admit to an occasional cup of warm water with lemon when working at the ski resort. I have a winter job and when it drops into the minus zone I get a little cranky after being out in the cold and I want soup or something hot, but am happy with warm water & lemon. Sometimes with a shake of cayenne (not raw, but less than 1/8 t.) Guest guest
Hi Shari, What dressing do you use with the leafy greens and salads? Thanks Lucy
Guest guest
I usually just take some of the greens and a tomato and whirl it up and pour that over the salad.
