Guest guest
I have done the Master Cleanser many times through the years and have found it to be a wonderful introductory way to begin to learn about fasting. I did it for 3 days, 7 days, 12 days and one time for 40 days...I loved it! Using the Master Cleanser, I repeatedly found that if I encountered any difficulties along the way I needed to go back to the book and make sure I was doing everything EXACTLY the way it was outlined. I found that virtually always any problems I had encountered would be smoothed out by following the book's recommendations exactly. Recent times though I have come to prefer water fasting. My favorite book on this is Fasting and Eating for Health, by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.... (God's Chosen Fast) Arthur Wallis The Jewish fasts were observed with various degrees of strictness. When the fast lasted only a single day, from evening to evening, it was the practice to abstain from every kind of food, including water. Whereas in the case of private fasts of a more prolonged character, the practice was merely to drink water and abstain from ordinary food. Islam commanded by the Prophet: We fast from dawn to dusk. This is the timing given to us by Allah in the Quran when he states: You may eat and drink until you can distinguish the whiteness of the day against the blackness of the night at dawn. Then continue your fast until nightfall. " (2;187) Leaving Religion to the Theraputic uses of fasting: Dr TRALL (2), S. GRAHAM (3) after 1832, Dr SHEW (4) and many others also used fasting cures as a therapy. However, it is Dr Eduard Hooker DEWEY (5) and Dr S. TANNER who are correctly or incorrectly regarded as being the founders of fasting therapy, and who began using fasting on a systematic basis in the mid-nineteenth century. Fasting therapy spread fairly quickly. In 1908 Hereward CARRINGTON's (6) book on the subject was published, and in 1915 we find Frederick M. ALLEN of the Rockefeller Institute Hospital using fasting to treat diabetes. In 1923 Professor Sergius MORGULIS of the University of Nebraska (USA) published a book about fasting, which came to be widely accepted, and in which he details the effects of fasting on laboratory animals. In this book he intentionally ignores the therapeutic applications of fasting implemented by his predecessors. For example he makes no mention of JENNINGS, GRAHAM, TRALL, DENSMORE (7), WALTER, DEWEY, TANNER, HASKELL, McFADDEN (8), SINCLAIR, HAZZARD, TILDEN, EALES, RABAGLIATI (9), KEITH (10), and many other users of fasting therapies, and quotes only from CARRINGTON (11). In 1925 a book appeared by C.M. JACKSON (12), which again dealt with the technical aspects of fasting (in fact the withdrawal of nourishment) without mentioning any practitioners of fasting therapies other than CARRINGTON. Dr Herbert M. SHELTON (13), the leading representative of the Natural Hygiene School, continued, in the tradition of the therapists of the previous century, with his fasting therapy. Natural hygiene is, according to SHELTON, first and foremost a way of life and is a cure only in the second instance, based on the biological sciences in the sense of a true life science. This life science, or health science, must be based on the study and application of the true requirements of the living being. It can in no case consist of the search and application of remedies without any reference to the normal requirements of life. Fasting is exactly that: a requirement (long not recognized as such) of the living organism, on an equal footing with air, light, nutrition (equal and not taking precedence), rest, and so on. Dr SHELTON and his many disciples used fasting as a biological rest period for the organism, so that the personal life force could recover sufficiently to regenerate injured tissue and recover its health Gandhi quote: Fasting is an institution as old as Adam. It has been resorted to for self-purification or for some ends, noble as well as ignoble. One bible quote " But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. " (Matthew 6: 16 – 18) Dr Isabelle Moser on fasting -book How and when to be your own doctor free at www.soilandhealth.org: As for me, I will always be grateful to her for opening my eyes and mind a little wider. Elizabeth's case showed me why Russian schizophrenics put on a 30 day water fast had such a high recovery rate. I also remembered all the esoteric books I had read extolling the benefits of fasting. I also remembered two occasions during my own youth when I had eaten little or nothing for approximately a month each without realizing that I was " fasting. " And doing this had done me nothing but good. Religions all fine and good but what about real life dept Heres what you got following the natural hygiene which includes fasting, raw foods, sunshine and other natural methods to let the body heal itself from www.chetday.com from an actual Natural Hygienist who lived during the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic dr Eleanor McBean http://chetday.com/nobirdfluvaccine.htm It has been said that the 1918 flu epidemic killed 20,000,000 people throughout the world. But, actually, the doctors killed them with their crude and deadly treatments and drugs. This is a harsh accusation but it is nevertheless true, judging by the success of the drugless doctors in comparison with that of the medical doctors. While the medical men and medical hospitals were losing 33% of their flu cases, the non-medical hospitals such as Battle Creek, Kellogg and MacFadden's Health-Restorium were getting almost 100% healings with their water cure, baths, enemas, etc., fasting and certain other simple healing methods, followed by carefully worked out diets of natural foods. One health doctor didn't lose a patient in eight years. The very successful health treatment of one of those drugless doctors who didn't lose any patients will be given in the other part of this book, titled Vaccination Condemned, to be published a little later. If it aient broke don't fix it. Juice fasting is not true fasting to me although there may be some benefits giving the body a break from solid food, and products to detoxify the body with dieretics to detoxify in a few days are not good for the body. The body knows what it is doing and cleans itself at its own speed. There is an earlier posting on the few groups of people such as Diabetes I people who should not fast and others that NEED SUPERVISION WITH THEIR MEDICATIONS TO BE SAFE. Guest guest
Thanks for the link on the flu vaccine Mike, I have been meaning to research the subject. I have always sensed it, but it is hard to argue with others until you do the research. If you find any more good info on it please pass it along.
