Guest guest
I’ve heard that when you are muscle tested for a product, and your body knows that product will result in uncomfortable detoxification, then you will test negative for that product, because your body doesn’t want to be uncomfortable. Does anyone else have any information about this? Carol Chris Van Steenbergen [cvs6351] I have some Garden of Life products for sale. My naturopath muscle tested me and found they weren’t right for me. The company I bought them from has the lowest prices I could find but their restocking fee is steep. So I prefer to sell them for the price I paid less 5%. And I’ll throw in free shipping anywhere in the US. The RM-10 was ordered less than one month ago; the Primal Defense less than three. All were stored in a cool location. Email me at vanhornplayer or call 562.342.9402.
Guest guest
Jim, What I am referring to is kinesiology, or muscle testing, and how your body knows if a certain product will cause you to detox, so you will get a negative response. Carol JIM & BECKY PAYNE [rebecca.payne] Coral in a book on allergies I read some time back it was stated that an addiction is actualy an allergy and that it is even possible to be addicted to foods like ketchup ot tomato and need a daily fix or go into withdrawals. This may not be what you were looking for but you can certainly take it into consideration. Jim Payne

Guest guest
When taking something on an empty stomach, it's best to take with ice water. That way it passed right thru the stomach into the small intestines. I don't know about amino acids, since I get mine in food, but most vitamins and supplements should be taken with a food that has them. Vitamin C with orange juice, vitamin E with nuts, etc. One thing about drinking cold drinks with meals, my qigong teacher always said: The temperature of digestion is 100 degrees. And yes, fat soluble vitamins with fats. David In a message dated 5/8/2008 3:23:54 P.M. Central Daylight Time, beted711 writes: Like most of you, I take many supplements. Problem is, I don't know how to take most of them. I know the systemic enzymes need to be taken on an empty stomach and at least an hour before eating; the amino acids should be taken apart from protein foods, but should they be taken with food or does it matter. And some (like coQ10) need a bit of fat in order to be properly utilized. And do the herbs mix well together? I am confused, and a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, right? Also, now I am reading that it is not good to drink liquids with meals. Yea gads! How is one to swallow all those pills then? Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks, BettyWondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. Guest guest
Personally I don't put a lot of stock in what the FDA does. Granted they aren't all wrong, I'm sure they accidentally to some good things from time to time. Don't believe everything the government tells you. Judy P.S. I have been taking supplements for 40 years and I have always been satisfied with Twin Labs supplements. As for them being the same as Dr. Weil's and he is advertised them as his own superior product, than that's sad indeed. I used to hold his opinion in high esteem and do get his online mailings, but he seems to making a lot of money on his products that have gotten more and more expensive through the years. Guest guest
Sometimes companies will make special formulations specifically for resale under another name. Maybe Dr. Weil has these special formulations made exclusively for him. If, on the other hand, he is simply relabeling Twin Labs products and selling them under his own name, well, that's a different story. Know your food..... Guest guest
before buying supplements, get a membership w/consumer lab and check to see if they are up to snuff. weil's products often come up short of content. http://www.consumerlab.com/ , " Barb " <FirstYrs08 wrote: > > Just wanted to share this. I may have mentioned before but I really like reading Dr Andrew Weil articles and I buy some of his supplements. Well, I attempted to call to ask a question about one of the supplements and discovered something that I thought I'd share. I called the 1-800 # for Dr Weil supplements and it came up as the company, Ideasphere (sp?) and then had choices for four of their product lines, Nature's Earth, Alveda, TwinLab, and Metabolife. I went to the operator because Dr Weil brand wasn't listed. She explained that TwinLab is the Dr Weil brand. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that its just some other company who sells it under his name but it ticks me off because he perports his supplements are under greater standards/better quality/etc....Its embarrassing to post that I fell for it but still felt I had to share this info. TwinLab may be a good company, I really don't know, but I certainly know that Metabolife is junk! > > Also, here is an article from Consumer Reports Health (I LOVE CR so I really hope nothing ruins my view of them too - LOL)....anyways, makes a person want to avoid all supplements!! > > FDA seizes filthy food and supplement ingredients > > It's a nasty job, but somebody's got to do it. Guest guest
On a simplistic note, just looking at supplements is fine but not the whole answer. Just understanding what is missing out of the food chain is important so you can understand what is needed to supplement. The elements missing out of the food chain that chelate the body are the broad spectrum of plant sourced minerals and soil borne organisms. You can read on my web site about products with clinical notes and suggestions, www.environotics.com. When you put your curser over the products tab there will be a drop down menu with of products. The main supplements are the 70+ Colloidal Minerals, 100+ probiotic solution and the Transcendental GI Cleanse. All of these products are natural chelators and virtually all of them are missing from todays food chain, conventional and organic.
