Guest guest
Does anyone have this experience? I do not have diabetes, but when I eat the wrong foods, bad carbs, sugar, chocolate, caffeine, I have episodes after where I plummet into lethargy and an ocd-laced depression. Esp. with chocolate. About a half hour later I just get weird, then I mistakenly and irrationally try to find a reason for the depression in my life, etc. When perhaps the real reason is food... Guest guest
Yes! This happens to me too! And I get a migraine on top! Some good low-glycemic alternatives are lucuma powder (a fruit), yacon powder (from a cactus plant), carob, mesquite powder, cinnamon, vanilla (I mix these with raw almond butter- a little satisfies the sweet tooth and is extremely nutritious!) You can buy these things online at the Raw Food World or at a health food store. Amelia On Behalf Of kellykebby Tuesday, January 12, 2010 2:10 PM Sugars Does anyone have this experience? Guest guest
Trying to stay away from those places is hard, but I manage to just not do it some how. I still buy bagles from Tim Hortons though. We call it 'Timmy Hos' I try and get the honey wheat ones and then later I used them to make a sandwich with or have them with cream cheese. Tim Hortons is a lot better than Micky Ds 'cause you can get a 'soup and a roll' and it's not that bad for you at all. No grease involved in that really. I just eat more than my share of cookies though. I think I ate four of them and they are big too. I think they will make a good breakfast tomorrow too. Guest guest
HI! Its natural sugar, just from some tree bark instead of a cane. I too have natural and chemical 'sensitivities' and have not been bothered...but you know, what affects one doesn't necessarily affect another. I have chronic asthma (though well controlled) & am allergic to everything. One person said "too much will give you diarrhea"....hmmm. That's interesting and I'll keep it in mind. Guess I've not had too much. I also cook with it instead of cane sugar & everything is great. I make everything from scratch & use no boxed stuff. I just wanted to know if anyone thought it completely horrible for some reason, because I've not read anything bad about it...yet. :-) I've read LOTS of bad things about Splenda and will avoid that like the plague. But I have yet to hear anything awful about Xylitol, which I'm happy for. So far, so good! THANKS! ameliagerlach 1/18/2010 4:57:38 PM RE: Re: Sugars I wonder if it would give me headaches? Guest guest
My integrative medicine doctor recommends it; she says it’s much better than sugar, because it doesn’t feed Candida. Guest guest
it inhibits the growth of candida. does not cause a rise in blood sugar levels. if its cut with to much sorbitol it will give you diarrhea so get the good stuff. it does kill and inhibit the bacteria that causes tooth decay and gingivitus. its all we use in my house.
