Guest guest
Hello, My name is Sasha. I have been lurking for a few weeks but this is my first post. I was recently diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease and sub acute cutaneous lupus. I feel fine most of the time but have had what I now know to be flares for a while. Anyway, the rheumatologist has prescribed plaquenil. Of course, I am not ok with this. I would love to hear how others have dealt with(and overcome) these and similiar conditions. I look forward to getting to know everyone better. Be blessed, Sasha
Guest guest
I have systemic lupus and have found that it goes into remission when I follow a vegan diet, especially a low-glycemic one. Guest guest
Thanks Amelia, I was just about to plan next weeks menu. I am not ready for vegan but I will incorporate lots of veggies. I am also looking at low glycemic. It seem to regress to what I know because I can't find things that my family likes. Breakfast is a particular issue. Do you know of a resource(s) that have family friendly recipes? Thanks if you know of any. Even if you want to detail some of what you do, that would be a great help. Guest guest
Sasha, I’ve basically resigned myself to the fact that I have to make separate things for my family. I am adding a lot more raw foods to my diet now. There’s a great book with low glycemic recipes by Dr. Gabriel Cousens called “Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisineâ€, with great explanations about why it’s the best diet for health. I highly recommend it. I feel what we feed ourselves is a matter of life and death, literally.
