Guest guest
I'm about to start this diet. I know that I am dairy intolerant but I am wondering if I am also not able to handle gluten. I don't much like rice bread or tapioca both of which I have tried. Now I can see some problems with SCD for instance almond butter is fine but no bread and no jam (sigh) I suppose I'll have to just stuff it into celery. Actually if I follow this strictly bread, in any form, is out. I'd appreciate some support from anyone who has gone this route especially if it was successful. Guest guest
Irene, these diets are all about staying away from the things that feed candida. Candida is a bacteria in the bowel which when it gets too much nourishment (Standard American Diet) it proliferates, changes into a fungus and goes everywhere in the body causing all sorts of problems. It's basically about avoiding high glycemic foods and grains and taking probiotics like good yogurt. However, I would still juice veggies while on it, even carrots because candida and other illnesses do not like an alkaline (well-oxygenated) body. With a carrot - spinach (or other green) juice these calories are well absorbed so I think it is said that people like you have gained the weight they needed through juicing. Guest guest
I am on day 3 of the anti-candida diet and I am happy to say that I no longer crave bread or popcorn! Of course I am going slowly on the diet; I am still having a couple of small servings of low-glycemic fruit (grapefruit, berries), but I’m going to eliminate that after a few days. Now I just crave meat! Amelia On Behalf Of Kelly W. Sunday, October 18, 2009 11:17 AM Re: SCD Irene, these diets are all about staying away from the things that feed candida.
