OK, I've been on a Stevia odyssey for the past several years, first using a liquid from Wild Oats under their label which is no longer available since Whole Foods took it over. What I am using now is a liquid from Stevita. It's 8.00 at my health food store, but it is made in Texas, there is an 800 number on the bottle and you can buy it from there in bulk. I definitely like the liquid better than the powder. If it tastes bitter, then you are buying the wrong kind. DO NOT buy any this is sold in WM or other stores. It is cut w/something that makes it "yukky". Stevita only has a natural preservative in it. It may be an acquired taste, but it's worth acquiring to me to get off sugar and aspertame. This next summer I am going to get a stevia plant and try that. Fredna

Does that mean that if I don't crave sugar I don't have any of those nasty ailments? I like a little in my tea but if anything is really sweet it doesn't taste good to me. I do like fruit though and I usually make it my dessert now that I am non dairy and can't have ice cream though a local new market called Sprouts is carrying coconut ice cream which is non dairy and delicious. I grew up in England during WWII and we were rationed so my mom always said "I'll never go without sugar again" now I am almost 82 and I don't ever buy white sugar, I get the cane juice that is so much more expensive but not as bad for you. My mom would be amazed the things that we have learned about our diet. Now that I look back on our war time diet and it was pretty healthy. We had fish, not much red meat, lots of meat-free meals, veggies we grew in our own healthy soil. We thought that we were deprived because we

couldn't get all the butter and sugar we wanted. We had chickens for eggs and meat and fish wasn't rationed, chocolate was though. Strange how things do change if you live long enough which I begin to think that perhaps I have.

Hi Vicki, nice to hear from you. And I am glad you didn't get pressured to do chemo and that there was no other cancer found. I am familiar with the Budwig Protocol. The closest I've come to this is to take plain yogurt and mix it with Barlean's flax oil and you are right, it is NASTY, so I eat it down as fast as possible. Do you eat the quark they talk about in her book? I think it is very good for you, very oxygenating to the cells. Thank you for writing!

Fredna, Ihave tested positive twice out of four times for lupus activity and last week I was tested for Sjogren's so I don't know if I have that. I have many of those symptoms however. BUT! My symptoms fade quickly if my diet is raw veggies and fruits and a small amount of meat. NO WHEAT NO SUGAR NO UNNECESSARY CARBS NO PROCESSED FOODS. another natural low calorie sweetener from the Lo Han fruit available. It has

a more brown sugar like taste. I buy Jarrow's brand called Lo Han

sweet. It is a mix of xylitol and Lo Han.

OK, I've been on a Stevia odyssey for the past several years, first

using a liquid from Wild Oats under their label which is no

longer available since Whole Foods took it over. What I am using now

is a liquid from Stevita. It's 8.00 at my health food store, but it

is made in Texas, there is an 800 number on the bottle and you can buy it

from there in bulk. I definitely like the liquid better than the

powder. If it tastes bitter, then you are buying the wrong

kind. DO NOT buy any this is sold in WM or other stores. It is

cut w/something that makes it " yukky " . Stevita only has a

natural preservative in it. It may be an acquired taste, but it's

worth acquiring to me to get off sugar and aspertame. This next

summer I am going to get a stevia plant and try that. Fredna

Have you all tried Stevia? If not, do you know anything about

it? Several on the group use it, it's sweet, delicious, natural and

gets you away from sugar. Fredna

Does that mean that if I don't crave sugar I don't have any of

those nasty ailments? I like a little in my tea but if anything is

really sweet it doesn't taste good to me. I do like fruit though

and I usually make it my dessert now that I am non dairy and can't have

ice cream though a local new market called Sprouts is carrying coconut

ice cream which is non dairy and delicious. I grew up in England

during WWII and we were rationed so my mom always said " I'll never

go without sugar again " now I am almost 82 and I don't ever buy

white sugar, I get the cane juice that is so much more expensive but not

as bad for you. My mom would be amazed the things that we have learned

about our diet. Now that I look back on our war time diet and it

was pretty healthy. We had fish, not much red meat, lots of

meat-free meals, veggies we grew in our own healthy soil. We

thought that we were deprived because we couldn't get all the butter and

sugar we wanted. We had chickens for eggs and meat and fish wasn't

rationed, chocolate was though. Strange how things do change if you

live long enough which I begin to think that perhaps I have.

Yes,

I have lupus and I feel much worse when I eat sugar or even too many

fruits and carbs. I know I have a problem with Candida. It is so hard to

stay away from those things, though, because one craves them!

Hi Vicki, nice to hear from you. And I am glad you didn't get

pressured to do chemo and that there was no other cancer found. I am

familiar with the Budwig Protocol. The closest I've come to this

is to take plain yogurt and mix it with Barlean's flax oil and you are

right, it is NASTY, so I eat it down as fast as possible. Do you eat

the quark they talk about in her book? I think it is very good for you,

very oxygenating to the cells. Thank you for writing!

Fredna, Ihave tested positive twice out of four times for lupus

activity and last week I was tested for Sjogren's so I don't know if I

have that. I have many of those symptoms however. BUT! My symptoms fade

quickly if my diet is raw veggies and fruits and a small amount of meat.

NO WHEAT NO SUGAR NO UNNECESSARY CARBS NO PROCESSED

FOODS. These feed systemic candida which I believe is the major

cause for autoimmunity.

Glad people are writing! Kel
