Hi, I am sorry I haven't been on. I've been busy with work, painting, etc. I hope everyone is well. I know you all have a wealth of information to share so I hope you do. Welcome to the new people! I have lost about 5 pounds but am having lots of diarrhea. I need to cut out the wheat completely. Anyone adhering to the Gerson therapy or a diet like it to keep the body alkaline? This is my goal. Take care, Kelly (owner)

I've had good luck with the Hay diet or sequential eating for the same problem.

Hello, everyone. I do a “modified Gerson” diet and it helps my

lupus. I mostly eat fruits, veggies, potatoes, rice, beans, oats. I don’t eat

wheat or dairy and only eat meat occasionally (because I have anemia). I do

need to juice more! Please share what has helped you.

Hi, Kel.

I’m not really doing that much of Gerson right now, but I am

going to go see a great integrative medicine doctor soon. I’m hoping she’ll

help me get my vitamin D up to a normal level. And, also get rid of Candida!

Happy birthday to your son! That’s a cute age!~My kids are now

21 and 22! So hard to believe!

My son has Chronic Lyme and we just found out very deficient in

vitamin d. Today he had a shot at the doctor’s of 600,000 IU’s. I really hope

it helps him!

Take care,

Amelia

Well, the dr. said it will be a while before he notices a

difference, because his levels have to go up and that could take around 3

months. He’s taking 10,000 IU’s of Vitamin D right now via supplements.

I know that you probably know vitamin D is processed in the liver. I thought that was one of the reasons that people don't normally get vit D shots, because it's fat soluble, not water soluble. Kel

Well, he only took one shot. Now he’s doing pills. When one is

that deficient, it takes a lot to bring one up to the desired level. There’s an

excellent book on this called The Vitamin D Cure, by a rheumatologist. He talks

about how a lot of people who have autoimmune illnesses are vitamin D deficient

and how they improve when brought to the right levels.

you know, the body will produce around 20,000iu of vitamin d if you get about 15 minutes of sun. You'll have to expose some skin to do that and no sunscreen. its been theorized that that is why we have a cold and flu season. Its cold outside and people don't get any sun so they become V-Ddeficient every single winter. Of course most of us have been mislead that the sun is bad for youso we lather up on the sunscreen and are deficient all summer too. Sure getting burned is a bad thing, but a little exposure everyday is good for us. V-D is also the anti cancer vitamin. From: kellykebbyDate: Sun, 2 Aug 2009 18:32:22 -0700RE: HI to all. Dan, I am very aware of all this. Unfortunately, I have lupus

and even 5 minutes in the sun will bring on a major migraine for me! Also

unfortunately, I am “allergic” to Vitamin D3 supplements, which are the best. I

can only take Vitamin D2, which I am. D3 also gives me migraines.

Amelia,  I'm so sorry you have to deal with this awful auto-immune disease,  I myself have a problem with ongoing diarrhea which I am only able to control with a neighbor's folk remedy which I dislike but it does work. Now I don't know if this would help you at all but it might be worth trying.  I am 81 and I have no sign of arthritis whatsoever although I have a damaged knee which is bone on bone from an auto accident almost fifty years ago.  I buy MSM in crystal form and I put it in all beverages I drink all day, just a little sugar spoonful,  including my bottles of water.  It is only organic sulphur.  I don't know if it would help anyone who has existing arthritis and I have no idea if it would help you at all but it has been a boon to me.

Well, the dr. said it will be a while before he notices a difference, because his levels have to go up and that could take around 3 months. He’s taking 10,000 IU’s of Vitamin D right now via supplements.

Yes, tell us how your son feels after the shot. I have heard that vit B12 shots make people feel wonderful.  Kel--- On Wed, 7/29/09, ameliagerlach@ hotsheet. com <ameliagerlach@ hotsheet. com> wrote:

Hi, Kel.

I’m not really doing that much of Gerson right now, but I am going to go see a great integrative medicine doctor soon. I’m hoping she’ll help me get my vitamin D up to a normal level. And, also get rid of Candida!

Happy birthday to your son! That’s a cute age!~My kids are now 21 and 22! So hard to believe!

My son has Chronic Lyme and we just found out very deficient in vitamin d. Today he had a shot at the doctor’s of 600,000 IU’s. I really hope it helps him!

Take care,

Amelia

Hi Amelia, how are you? Been busy at work and getting ready for my son's 9th birthday. Hope everyone is well. I bought the new Gerson book ($30) but haven't read it yet. Peace, Kel
