HI Debby,

Yes, I know what you mean by die off. Last summer it got so that I couldn't eat any sugar. After i did i would feel like i was going to collapse, so for two or three weeks I ate nothing but meat and veggies (not the high sugar kind) and I remember feeling just horrible, shaking, etc ( but I didn't have the horrible fatigue that came with sugar). I lost 17 pounds, then all of a sudden could tolerate sugar again. Candida is bad, I am surprised it has remained a silent epidemic for so long. I am going to try harder :o) Last summer I believe I had "a bit" of adrenal gland failure. I know to begin with baby steps, everything in moderation, etc. To love myself I have to learn self-discipline, etc.

It can't be that Debby and I are the only ones with weight issues here. I am surprised that out of a hundred members, no one has written in for support. Debby, I'm honored to have you here, because you really are capable of helping people make lasting and wonderful changes in their lives. Take care, Kel

Hi Kelly,

Your experience is why we suggest going really slow with switching diet, for

both emotional and physical reasons. The reason why candida overgrowth isn't

really talked about is because it is naturally in the body. It's not like other

diseases where you can do a test for it.. it's always there so the test will

always be positive :). So we all have candida, but when people say I have

candida, they are usually referring to an overgrowth.

Doctors do know that there can be an overgrowth of candida, but many don't

really acknowledge it for the average person, only for those terminally ill

where it is so apparent you can't ignore it. It also often keeps us from losing

weight because it robs us of nutrients. Our bodies are getting plenty of foods,

but we aren't absorbing them so our body cries out to feed it more because of

the lack of nutrients.

The main piece of self discipline I use is to make my food from scratch every

day (which only takes 15 minutes since I've done it so much my process is

streamlined) and to eat only the food I have cooked for myself. These are

non-negotiables and have saved me many times. I do hope that I am able to help

people and thank you for having me here. The more I learn, the more I have to

give to others.

Well Debby is here to help anyone who needs it. She lost 147 pounds without surgery. The type of weight loss in which the weight won't come back because she changed her ways of eating. 100% of her physical problems are gone because she changed her diet. She has a curing candida group on and this website http://www.naturall ythriving. com

Thanks Kelly. I did want to say that the weight will come back and I am not

" cured " of anything. Really I am just managing it as a life long process which

has behavioral and physical components. I have definitely changed my

relationship with food.. I no longer look at it as something to use, but just

something to fuel my body.

That was hard and took me a long time. I was actually offered a completely

covered gastric bypass surgery when I was at my highest by my doctor but I

declined. I know enough about health to know that it is not the answer,

physically or emotionally. I have a friend who had the surgery who is now

really emotionally messed up (but thin) and still struggling to eat right and

struggling with alcoholism (transfer addiction).

Many people gain the weight back, never lose all their weight, and struggle with

many complications. The success stories you hear are typically people who are

only a few years out. Check the stats on how many people have complications

including death, or gain the weight back, especially going more than 3 years

out, and you might reconsider the surgery.
