If you had ever experienced "passing a kidney stone" you have endured on of the most painful conditions known to man. Kidney stones may be silent and manifest no symptoms, but most often produce sudden, severe and excruciating back pain that can be intermittent and radiate from the back across the abdomen and then into the genital area or inner thigh area. This pain may be associated with nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, blood in the urine, painful urination, along with fever and chills. Stones can be anywhere in the genito-urinary tract and may block the kidneys, bladder, or the ducts or tubes in-between. Typically, symptoms from kidney stones are dependent on the anatomical location, the type of stone formation (chemical-make-up) and the actual size. Now that summertime is in full swing, I must caution you that stones are more common in the summer. This is primarily due to increased sweating and insufficient fluids or dehydration. Research studies show that soft drinks containing phosphoric acid encourage the recurrence of kidney stones in some people. So do yourself a favor, and avoid the rush to your local emergency room by getting off colas and soft drinks today. Read on for more helpful facts... Yes, it is that time of year again. Parents, you understand that the beginning a new school year is always an exciting time for your children. It’s also important to remember that children with allergies and asthma face challenges in the classroom caused by dust mites, chalk dust, or mold for example. These challenges can range from discomfort, which makes it hard to concentrate, to symptoms that reduce their ability to participate in activities like recess or physical education. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, it is reported that more than 9 million kids under the age of 18 suffer from allergies and asthma. A good suggestion would be to schedule a meeting with teachers, coaches and the school RN to discuss your child’s condition early in the school year. Good communication between your child, yourself and the school will allow for a plan that will favor success in academics and extracurricular activities. Read on for other Allergy/Asthma helpful hints. Do You Suffer From Fall Allergies? Ragweed and mold are common irritants for those who suffer from allergies or hayfever during the fall. Ragweed begins blooming in mid-August through October. Ragweed is a weed that can grow 4-15 feet tall depending on the species. The most allergy causing species are the ambrosia aratemisiifolia (short/normal ragweed) and ambrosia trifida (giant ragweed). Tips To Avoid Exposure To Pollen Or Mold Spores This Fall Try not to be outdoors for any extended period of time during the morning hours of 5am-10am. Most of us have to leave for work somewhere between those times, just be brief and keep your car windows closed and your air conditioner on. On that note: Keep your windows and doors of your home and car closed all season. Use an air conditioner to keep it cool inside, not fans or attic fans. Do not hang clothes or linens outside. Dry them in a clothes dryer. The best time to do outside chores is right after heavy rainfall or late in the afternoon. After spending any extended period of time outdoors shower, wash hair and change clothing. Avoid cross-reactive foods: honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, banana and chamomile. Use liquid tears to help flush out pollen or mold spores from the eyes. Take Växa’s Aller-Sine daily to stop the release of histamines and other cytotoxic substances. Avoid exposure to insect sprays, tobacco smoke, and, in general, pollution. Note local pollen counts. The National Allergy Bureau is a good source to learn about the pollen count in your region. You can contact them by going to www.aaaai.org and clicking on to pollen counts at the very top of the web page. Perfect Blend Of EFA’s Natural ADD/ADHD Remedy Neurological Support Visit Our Home Page Customer Feedback Suggest A Topic "Discover How Nature’s Super Fats Can Save Your Life." As many of you may recall, we previously discussed “Good Fats vs. Bad Fats” in one of our May health tips. Because essential fatty acids (EFA’s) are so important to understand and I know of no subject more confusing, I wanted to re-examine the important features and their influence on our well- being. When I give public talks on health and medicine, the questions I get reveal both the interest and confusion regarding fats. Let’s face it, we have to “eat to live” because food is fuel for our metabolic engines. The quality of fuel you burn (good fats for example) influences your body; just as the grade of fuel your car burns influences its performance. Omega 3 essential oils are the key building blocks in every cell membrane in the body. To build and maintain strong, healthy bodies that will be resistant to “system breakdowns” we need to learn to supplement our diets by eating foods rich in essential fatty acids or make up for our lack of EFA’s by taking high quality supplements. Your Brain Is Your Body’s Engine And EFA’s It’s Oil Any auto mechanic or manufacturer will tell you that the most overlooked and important service for a car is to replace the engine’s oil and filter. In fact, many new car warranties will be null and void if the oil is not changed within the manufacturer’s scheduled timelines. The brain is no different. Well, except that a car is replaceable and the human body is not. The brain is in charge of communicating every action the body takes: breathing, pumping blood, eye blinking, swallowing and digesting food, metabolism, growth of any kind, puberty, speaking, thinking analytically or creatively, kicking a ball, moving out of the way of a moving object, the memory (long and short term), every emotion, reasoning, coordination and balance, standing upright, etc. It communicates through the nervous system, which includes millions and millions of neurons (nerve cells) and neurotransmitters. Each neuron receives information from thousands of other neurons as well as sends out information to thousands of other neurons. This transmission of information is made smooth and fluent by essential fatty acids (EFA’s). Just like the car needs oil to keep its engine from breaking down and to maintain longevity, so does the body. Read on... Everyone in America seems to have more stress than ever. Stress creates an imbalance in our bodies by producing excess Cortisol from the adrenal glands leading to an acidic pH. What is the significance of hyperacidity or too much acid in the body? Enlightened health care providers agree that most health problems from arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and cancer begin in an acid environment within the body. It is my professional opinion that many symptoms or conditions that individuals suffer from are caused by an imbalanced pH. What most people don’t know is that if your pH drops below 6, you cannot absorb vitamins A, B, E and K or valuable minerals like potassium, calcium or zinc. So check you pH today! Oral Chelation Immune Support Good Bacteria Visit Our Home Page Healthy Benefits Of Oral Chelation Did you know that everyone gets toxic at some point in their life, secondary to the air we breath, the water we drink or from the processed foods we consume? Certainly, smoking (and second hand smoke), excess alcohol consumption, over-eating, lack of exercise and occupational exposure are contributing factors to internal toxicity and less than ideal health. So, the best approach to proactive health would be to rid the body to those toxic poisons. Oral chelation is a safe avenue for the detoxification of heavy metals and minerals (i.e. toxins). Give your body the advantage this flu season by cleaning out toxins that may hamper the immune system, and replenish the body with immune-building nutrients. "Internal Hygene" - Detoxifying Obstacles On The Roadway To Health What is "Internal Hygiene?" Internal Hygiene can be simply defined as hygiene and cleansing that takes place on the inside of your body. We ingest many toxic substances that pollute and clog our internal system. Some of these toxins come from cigarette smoke, alcohol consumption, saturated fats, and so on, which are factors we can control by making healthy dietary and consumer choices. Other toxins come from pesticides, exhaust fumes, our water source, household cleaners, and so on, which seem beyond our control. We know that air pollution is a big enough issue for the world leaders to design a treaty around but what bearing does it have on the individual human being? Many of these cardiovascular events occur in women. As women approach menopause their risk of heart disease equals that of men. Leading cardiologist and cellular medicine expert Matthias Rath M.D. reminds us that animals don’t get heart attacks because they produce Vitamin C in their bodies, which protects their blood vessel walls. In humans, who are unable to produce Vitamin C, dietary vitamin deficiency of this nutrient weakens the blood vessel walls. Clinical studies document that optimum daily intake of vitamins and other essential nutrients halts and reverses coronary heart disease (CHD) naturally. The primary cause of CHD and atherosclerotic disease is a chronic deficiency of vitamins and other essential nutrients in millions of vascular wall cells. Even if you have a past history of heart disease, high blood pressure or a family history of cardiovascular disease (CVD) it is important for you to get started immediately with quality supplementation to prevent atherosclerosis and assist with artery wall repair. Women, Your Heart Alarm Is Ticking! Heart disease is the Number 1 Killer of women age 35 and up. It is not an “old ladies” disease. Women die of heart attacks 6 times more than breast cancer. This cardiovascular disease is a disorder of the blood vessels in the heart, which ultimately prevents oxygen and vital nutrients from getting to the heart, thus leading to a heart attack. Most of the women who have suffered from a heart attack did not have any prior symptoms or they did not recognize them. Women tend to ignore symptoms thinking that they are having an anxiety or panic attack. In addition, they are fearful of pressing the panic button only to result in a false alarm. Read on...
