Hi,

I joined this group because I am convinced there is a natural way to

heal the condition I have. It is neurofibromatosis. There is no

cure - they say. It is being tested as treatable by tomaxifen (hope

i spelled that right), but the side effects are not something I want

to deal with.

Neurofibromatosis is supposedly genetic. However, there is no

history of it in my family. I have multiple fibromas (small bumps)

on my skin, but no other symptom. It is definitely diagnosed when

there is a presence of cafe au lait spots, which I have none.

So that is another piece of my mystery - I am not fully convinced I

have even been properly diagnosed.

In my reading I found that the same T-cell mutation in

neurofibromatosis is in colon cancer - and there is a strong family

history of colon cancer. So I am wondering if there is a connection -

especially since I recently learned that tomaxifen is being used as

a treatment.

I eat no meat - however, that has only been for a couple of years.

And am trying to totally wean off dairy. Cheese is difficult to give

up totally, but I am doing better.

Any thoughts or ideas would be very welcomed.

Carol

Hi Carol, Renee has battled colon cancer and won. I

can't wait to hear what she tells you about this.

Renee, maybe you could put your info in a file and or

keep resending it when new people come. You are so

valuable here!

I have heard of neurofibromatosis but don't know too

much about it. I have ulcerative colitis currently in

remission but I've had it over 20 years so I have a

really high possibility of getting colon cancer. I am

trying to change my diet to one which will slow or

reverse the inflammatory damage I am still

experiencing. I believe you can heal most or all

illnesses with the right diet full of raw veggies and

fruits and omega 3s. I have just bought a new juicer

so I will be trying that out soon. The enzymes in

juices are SOO healing. You might want to research Dr.

Gerson's therapy the Gerson Therapy online. It's not

just for cancer. Welcome to the group! Kelly

Hi Carol,

I'm sorry it took so long to read this. We had a

big storm a couple weeks ago and my DSL has been down.

I am not familiar with neurofibromatosis. But I do

have cafe au lait spots and I did have colo-rectal

cancer. Interesting. I'd like to research this further

to see what kind of connection I can make between the

two. I'll have to look up neurofibromatosis too.

You are on the right track by not eating meat and

eliminating your dairy, even gradually. I recommend

increasing your body's alkalinity too, especially if

there is a concern about colon cancer in your future.

Red meat and dairy both increase acidity. Coffee,

colas and sugar are other big culprits in increasing

acididty. It would be best to avoid those foods.

When I attended the Relay for Life last weekend, I

was greatly disturbed by all the signs that said " Get

a colonoscopy starting at age 50 " . I won't be 50 for

another 7 years. I was diagnosed 4 years ago at age

39. The size of the tumor I had indicated that the

cancer had been there for several years! I would like

to see that recommended age for a first colonoscopy

dropped by 20 years, from 50 to 30. I have actually

spoken to the American Cancer society about it.

Kelly has made a good suggestion about juicing. It

is beneficial in so many ways. There are many good

books out there on juicing for specific health issues

or just good health in general.

Colonics is very popular these days. I haven't

tried it. I use a supplement called Reneu, which is

just as good as colonics, only it goes in my mouth!

Reneu is credited by my cancer doctors for keeping my

cancer from spreading further up into my colon and

getting into my inguinal lymph nodes and beyond. The

environment in my colon was not conducive to the

cancer being able to thrive and survive in there. In

fact, the cancer started growing in the opposite

direction, to the outside of my body (yes, it was

totally disgusting and humiliating!). I will post my

cancer story and my cancer nutrition story again for

your benefit, as Kelly suggested.

I also welcome you to the group! Please let me

know how I can be of help. In the meantime, I am going

to research that information. Best wishes and good

luck in persuing a naturally healthier lifestyle.

Blessings,

Renee
