While searching for a good non-fluoridated toothpaste, I discovered only two componenets which are all that effective as a preventive against recurring tooth decay. The most essential is 'myrrh'. Myrrh is the herb of choice in most Asian countries for healthy teeth and gums. I've been told that Bee Propolis is the solution. Apparently this works for some however after searching a bit I discovered a myrrh and propolis combination which in my opinion is much better!. To my knowledge there is only one company who offers this special combination. Tom's of Maine is the only one that I'm aware of right at the moment. This specific formula is usually not available at Target or your mainstream markets. Some Health Food stores do carry it, however you may have to special order it as it is not usually in stock. I obtain it at my nearby Vitamin outlet. This toothpaste eliminated the problems I previuosly endured with my teeth and gums since completely eliminating the Fluorides. Tea Tree mouthwash by Plantation herbals ( an Australian based company) is a good germicidal. I use both. I wish you luck. Guest guest
Hi there. Well, Someone had told me about a month ago about Black Walnut. So...I've been using that. You open up a Black Walnut capsule (I use NSP)... then get your toothbrush damp, dip it in there, and brush with it. get a separate cheaper toothbrush for this as it will stain the toothbrush. Then I brush with my toothpowder. I use Brain Garden Tooth powder, but I know as a child my parents had me use baking soda. I think it's important to not use flouride. I will forward an article about flouride also...Le tme get my tooth powder and see what the ingredients are..... Bicarbonate of soda, salt, clove oil, sweet leaf powder.... Then I floss. Then I use colloidal silver. I swish it around in my mouth and hold it in there awhile before swallowing it. A lady told me that she took her son to the dentist and he had a cavity. They schedule to get it filled 2 weeks later. She had him brushing with the black walnut powder and when they went back to the dentist, the cavity was not there. Black walnut also whitens the teeth. If you want to order NSP or BG..let me know ( I do get credit) Or you can also go to your own local herb place to get your items. Good luck Kim - Merlynn Starr Wednesday, February 11, 2004 5:05 PM Cavities Hi. I have another poser:Just had disheartening visit to the dentist. I keep getting cavities despite good brushing hygiene and avoiding sweets. The dentist said the lack of saliva (dry mouth) was one cause; another being not using flouridated toothpaste and mouthwash.I suffer from chronic anxiety (which I'm working on) which causes dry mouth. And then, because flouride has such negative effects, I've been using non-flouridated toothpaste and mouthwash for about two years. These cavities happened inside of that time.Besides the obvious of getting my teeth fixed, I'm in a quandry as to what to do. Any ideas? Guest guest
Merlynn, Do you floss every day? For me, that made the whole difference. I floss at the end of the day, coming up from between the 2 teeth and around each one, doing the whole mouth twice. That gets everything out. Hope this helps, Suzan --- Merlynn Starr <illumined wrote: > Hi. I have another poser: > Just had disheartening visit to the dentist. Guest guest
Merlynn, You may want to research celiac disease. A lot of people suffers with this disease without knowing it. Cavities are one of the side effects. Many times cavities are a symptom of some other disorder or disease within our body. Irene C > --- Merlynn Starr <illumined > wrote: > > Hi. Guest guest
Grace, I loved your post! I had a sample of Brain Garden's "Pulse" once. Good stuff. Great to hear about people catching on to the dangers of fluoride. Here is what I use daily: Toothpowder based on Pascalite, which is a ridiculously cheap and priceless form of fossil bentonite clay. There used to be a website, but I think they took it down again. It was http://pascalite.com Pascalite is an excellent source of trace minerals, and one of those Gifts from the Earth. Like AFA, Noni, Aloe, Chapparal. It has amazing health properties and can be used externally as a wound healing poultice, and internally. My teeth are pretty worn down . They really should all be capped, but I have other priorities right now. As long as I brush with Pascalite, they are fine. If I stop for a few days and use toothpaste, even a good one without harmful chemicals, they start being sensitive to hot and cold. It's almost as if the Pascalite constantly remineralizes the teeth. Remind me tomorrow, I can find the phone number. Guest guest
Hi, My husband and I really messed up with our sons early diet and his teeth paid dearly. he is four. Also I am upset that after he was older, THEN they started coming out with products that contain dha and omega 3s. The point about soy milk that you make is valid. We gave our son soy formula instead of milk because we thought it was better. I breastfed for two months and stopped because my chest was too big, he had gotten accustomed to the bottle nipples and was very stubbornly refusing the breast so I had to manually give him the breast milk in a bottle. Plus I was also afraid to breast feed because I had lupus-type symptoms. Anyway, here are the main reasons now that my son has horrible cavities. We let him take his bottle to bed each night. Soy milk affecting calcium and magnesium? sugar in diet and not enough mag and calc in diet. Now, also, we have well water and there was no flouride in the water, nor did we give him the flouride the doctor suggested. So many reasons for all these cavities. There are things I need to do now, because I believe I can reverse his cavities and build his teeth up again, poor guy. Take care, Kel
Guest guest
Its a good thing there was no flouride in the water since flouride displaces calcium in the bones and teeth. The damage does take yrs to be made known though as the teeth become brittle and will no longer hold fillings in many cases. Never mind the unseen damage to bone, damage to the dna, and the mass killing of enzymes. The teeth remineralize at night and it is best to avoid toothpastes that contain glycerin that block this process. A calcium supplement may be in order depending on the amount he is getting now?
