I have recommend pharmaceutical intervention when they are suicidal and still treated with acupuncture and herbs. I have already jotted some of them down, which I read from previous e-mails. I know you are suppose to stay away from certain foods, but I would like to have a few good ideas too of what to eat. I had a flare-up the other day and could not figure out why I was having them. Usually I know why, but this puzzled me. Then I read ON THIS LOOP to stay away from alfalpha because it causes Lupus patients to flare-up. Well, I had alfalpha sprouts in my salad. Case solved. Thanks! Please keep on sharing your info. Guest guest Posted May 31, 2005 Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 Hi Jaymie, I don't eat as strictly macrobiotic now as I did when I was going through my horrible cancer treatment. I still use it as a good guide for meal planning. I love udon noodles! Typically my meals are something like this: I have my alkaline cocktail usually just before breakfast. Then maybe a quarter of a cantaloupe with some berries (blueberries, raspberries). Sometimes a hard boiled egg. I like V8 or graapefruit juice or tea with breakfast. Sometimes I still like to have Oatmeal or the tofu French toast! I agree with the raw veggie snacks. Or a piece of fruit. Choose fruits with a low glycemic index. Bananas, for example, are very high in potassium, but also high in sugar. Mix your fruits up daily so that you can still enjoy the benefits of the fruits that are higher in sugar, but you don't overload on that natural sugar in a single day. I try to stay away from dairy, so that eliminates the cheeses and yogurts for me. A good lunch is a broiled chicken breast on Romaine, then add what you like, other veggies, nuts or seeds. Low sugar or no sugar dressing. I like to have a Silk chocolate or vanilla milk, because the truth is I always loved dairy products! With my Silk milk, I don't feel so deprived of my milk! Another good snack I like is Body FX shakes. Alot of times I will have that for breakfast, too. But I always try to have at least one a day. Also other juice recipes make good snacks. For dinner, keep those salmon recipes coming!!! We do alot of salmon at my house. Fish in general is better than meat. Poultry comes in next. Remove skin and bake, broil or grill (without aluminum foil though!) Potatoes are another high glycemic carbohydrate. So we also do alot of brown whole grain or wild rice. We have soups quite a bit, like a good miso or shiitake mushroom soup. My kids and I love spinach and broccoli. Mix your vegetables up so you get a variety of colors. Carrots have a high glycemic index, so you may want to limit them if, like me, you have an alkaline cocktail. Different squashes and pumpkin add a variety of yellows and oranges, along with a variety of tastes and textures. We don't even have salad recipes! We put everything imaginable into salads. Remember to add things like sprouts and water cress. And seeds or nuts really top off the salads! A salad can be a whole meal in itself. I do macrobiotic deserts alot too, like couscous cakes. I still have to make an occassional banana pudding for the kids. I make the appropriate more healthy substitutions where I can in my recipes! A cook book collection or gallery is a great idea. I'll have to find time to go through my cookbooks and see what I can come up with for you. I have so many cookbooks!!! You're still doing great in researching your nutrition options! When I said don't forget the sprouts in your salads, I certainly didn't mean these alfalfa sprouts!!! All the same, I felt a little stupid, thinking back on it! There are many kinds of sprouts. You know best what you can or cannot eat. I know you'll come up with some really good salads, full of great nutrition. Making salads, like juicing, is fun. You can get really creative! The absolute best way I know of to get rid of parasites is with the First Fitness supplement, Reneu, that I use and is available on my website. The average colon has between 7 and 25 pounds of putrefied fecal residue caked to the walls. This can remain in the colon for up to 20 years before it is finally passed out of the body. (I got that info from a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association.) This provides the perfect breeding ground for parasites, (I have some great pictures of several of these hideous little creatures!), bacteria and candida albicans. 85 to 90% of all illnesses, from the common cold to the worst cancers, start right in the colon. There shouldn't be a problem with the credit cards though. I'm getting the company on the phone right now as I type, to ask them what the problem is with that. They are always so good about getting any problem resolved immediately. That is why we have so few problems! Ok...There really aren't any credit cards or debit/check cards that the company doesn't take, as long as they have the logo on them. They told me to have you call the 800 number and they will try to see what the problem is and get it straightened out for you. I don't want to panic you here, but I've been a victim of identity theft and had my checking account defrauded 3 times in about a year and a half. One time I found out about this from trying to place an order and having my debit card refused!!! Hopefully that is not the case for you, and it's just some kind of electronic error. I always prefer talking to a real live person on the phone, but so few companies offer you that convenience anymore. It drives me crazy because I like to pay my bills over the phone, but not through the automated voice response systems. I want a real person to assure me that my money will be applied to the bill I am paying. Give them a call though. We have great customer services. They will be more than happy to help you get your order on it's way to you. But I got your other post first and replied to that. So give them a call to straighten out the credit card dilemma! You can safely use Reneu all the time. I recommend 3 or 4 times a year (every 3 or 4 months) doing a 10 day inner body cleanse.
