Guest guest
Hi AMelia, How hard do you find it to stay on the juicing diet. I don't know if I could do it. To be quite honest I did not radically change my diet until only recently. I had given up soda, and chips and chocolate, and major coffee consumption 2-3 years a go. BUt the grains, and some other stuff only recently really started being more strict. I eat all organic foods if at all possible. We grow alot of stuff in our own garden, still have tomatoes and arugula, but that is it for this time of year. I do eat grass fed bison, and range free chicken with no hormones or antiobiotics, I do eat cheese and other raw dairy. I follow the guidlines of the " Makers Diet " which has always made sense to me. Just try to eat lots of fresh, raw veggies, and snack more often. I have lost 15 lbs since last year with out even trying and I feel great in my clothes now. I looked into Gerson diet, and it obviously works, but some things seems extreme, like no oils. How do you do that? I relied mostly on supplements because my lifestyle is too hectic to be able to juice all the time and I just never commited myself to that. You must be very disciplined, I am not, I am too weak. PLus my kids are having a fit about the foods I bring into the house now, no junk and or bad snacks. It is hard to please them. ANyway, tell us how long you have been sick family stuff.. Gina -- Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.8.8 - Release 2/14/2005
Guest guest
The most I have ever juiced is three in one day, and for that day I fasted as well, and by evening I FELT NO pain or inflammation. I felt like I was a child again. Amelia I have some questions for you. Can a person live on juice? or do they need some raw foods or cooked foods for fiber. What's your take on that? Part of why I didn't continue was because I don't know how long I should juice without eating. Also, what is in the main juices you drink? I know you make them in the morning right? And what other foods do you eat? oatmeal, potatoes, the soup? Thanks, Kel
Guest guest
Hi, Kel. Well, one day I tried just drinking juice in the morning (not eating my normal oatmeal and yogurt breakfast) and I felt very dizzy and nauseated. My understanding is that when you only drink juice and not eat, you detox very fast and the toxins go in your blood (which is a good thing), but it happens faster than your body is capable of eliminating them, so you feel bad. Also, if you do that too long and you're very toxic (like all of us with chronic illnesses), then it can be dangerous, because it puts too much stress on your organs (liver, kidneys). So, the best thing is to do it slowly and very importantly, doing the coffee enemas at the same time (so you can get the poisons out of your body). Juice by itself won't give you all the nutrients you need. Not only do you need fiber, but also protein, and other nutrients that other foods can provide. The only juice I drink right now is carrot with apple. I know I should add greens, but I'm too lazy! I do eat a lot of vegetables (both cooked and raw), baked potatoes, and oatmeal, and fruits. Sometimes I have brown rice and unsalted spelt bread, but not often. Also a little plain yogurt and flax oil. That's my diet. I don't eat the soup, because I don't have time to make it. sentto-12621366-782-1108704053-ameliagerlach=hotsheet.com [sentto-12621366-782-1108704053-ameliagerlach=hotsheet.com] On Behalf Of Kelly W.Friday, February 18, 2005 12:21 AM Subject: Re: Gerson Diet The most I have ever juiced is three in one day, and for that day I fasted as well, and by evening I FELT NO pain or inflammation. Guest guest
Gina, I have to admit that the juicing part is very difficult. I have to force myself to do it everyday, and, like I told Kel, I watch soap operas, play music, whatever, to get my mind off of the tediousness of it. I do it all in the morning, that way it's finished! The good thing about it is it keeps me from eating what I'm not supposed to be eating, because it really takes your appetite away. It also gives you a lot of energy. As far as the oils, I do use flax oil and it is very delicious if you add spices to it. The reason I'm doing this is because I have suffered so much with the lupus (for my entire life!). I've had it since I was about 15 years old and I feel so mad and disgusted that it has taken the best years of my life (I'm 49). Charlotte Gerson (Dr. Gerson's daughter) says they have very good results with lupus, so I figure it's worth giving it a shot for a couple of years. Have a wonderful day, Amelia sentto-12621366-781-1108702757-ameliagerlach=hotsheet.com [sentto-12621366-781-1108702757-ameliagerlach=hotsheet.com] On Behalf Of Gina Kindscher (Charter)Thursday, February 17, 2005 11:59 PM Subject: Gerson Diet Hi AMelia,How hard do you find it to stay on the juicing diet.
