Guest guest
I am having my house's heating ducts cleaned out tomorrow morning. Can anyone tell me what to expect or what not to expect? They are putting a sanitizer in afterward. I am afraid we will be allergic to it. I hope this makes a difference in my son's cough. Guest guest
Hello Kel, If their system does not have a rotary brush attached to the end of the hose which is a vacumn. Don't let them do it, run them off and find somebody else. Duct cleaning in this way does work but others don't. The best thing you can do once they are clean is buy an electrostatic filter and clean it once a month. Electrostatic filters filter at 94 to 96% efficiency without restricting airflow when kept clean once a month. Pleated cotton filters that say they last 3 months is bs. They have to be changed at 1 month as well otherwise they restrict airflow which raises your run times on your unit and increases power costs. Any other questions let me know.
