Dunc has written to them to ask why. In the meantime, I will post it here as Charlotte Gerson condensed it to put it on the website. It was written 3 years ago. I stayed on it for 2-1/2 years and did not cheat one

bite! As I continued to improve, it gave me the incentive to stick with it. Before beginning the Gerson Therapy I couldn't walk without holding on to something. After being on it for 18 months I was able to walk farther. I was even able to get my driver's license after not driving for 9 years! When the examiner asked what my doctor thought about my getting my license again, I told her "Oh, he thinks it's great." I didn't tell her that I hadn't seen him in 4 years! lol Anyway, here's my testimony that appeared on the Gerson website at one time. JanieMULTIPLE SCLEROSIS: A SUCCESS STORYIntroduction and condensation By Charlotte Gerson "For years, I was in denial not believing that I was as bad I was," writes Janie McDowell. "Things were pretty rough for a long time, but they are getting better now after taking the alternative healing approach. I've

been told that this alternative stuff is anecdotal and only works because I've made up my mind it's going to. That's Hogwash! All the years I was going to medical doctors and taking their prescription drugs, I was trying to "will" myself well. I wasn't able to do it…at least not until I helped my body help itself with the holistic approach. I was so skeptical that I almost didn't try it. I didn't think it would work, but I was desperate." We are writing up Janie's story not only because it is a tribute to her courage and her husband's (Duncan's) devotion, but because Janie, with her husband's help, did the Gerson Therapy at home. We don't see many cases of Multiple Sclerosis; it is slow to respond to the Gerson Therapy and some of the few patients who have started the treatment have discontinued it, having lost patience and hope. Important note: since doctors are generally helpless in overcoming even the symptoms of MS,

they describe it as an "auto-immune" disease, claiming that the patient's own immune system is attacking their myelin sheaths, the insulation of the nerves. That gives them a "cause" to treat: they reason that if the immune system is overactive, it must be destroyed with (yes!) chemotherapy. Please note in Janie's story how, as a result, she had constant infections –until she changed her diet and detoxified. Janie writes, "I am a 55 year old housewife who started having numbness and tingling in my feet and legs in March 1984. I was diagnosed with MS in January 1985 and over the next 9 years I saw 5 neurologists who treated me with various prescription drugs, even steroids and chemotherapy. I was getting progressively worse. "I got my first electric scooter in May 1988. In 1989, I was temporarily partially paralyzed but picked up a little with steroid treatments. By 1990, I was confined to a wheelchair. I had tremors,

chronic fatigue, constipation, constant bladder and kidney infections, spasms, muscle cramps, short term memory loss, [also caused by chemotherapy] constant severe pain in hands and feet – and more. "In April 1994 I was very sick and getting worse fast. I was weak and in constant pain and had one bladder or kidney infection after another. My eyes were yellow, my skin was gray and I was confined to an electric wheelchair. I had so many prescription drugs a shoe box was no longer big enough to hold all of them. I could no longer write my name, button a button, or brush my hair. "Meantime, Duncan started searching the Internet. Here we learned of many other people with MS. Some of them posted messages saying that they were recovering with nutrition and detoxification. They stressed diet. (My neurologist had never mentioned that to me.) "I started to change my diet, beginning with juicing fresh fruits and

vegetables, cut out white flour, sugar, caffeine, processed foods and cut down on my meat intake. With herbal colon cleansers and other nutritional supplements, and a colon cleansing herb prescribed by my nutritionist/chiropractor. "My nausea cleared up and my appetite began to improve in less than a week. My constipation of 6 years was gone in less than two weeks. My then-neurologist had been telling me, "Constipation is just part of having MS. Learn to live with it and take a laxative." Well, I didn't have to live with it. When my appetite came back, my strength soon began to improve. "We learned how mercury (which is poison) can leak into your body from your `silver' amalgam fillings and asked my neurologist and dentist about it. Both laughed and said it was a hoax. Most alternative and holistic practitioners recommend amalgam removal and chelation as part of the detoxification process. So I got my amalgams

removed and got chelated to get the mercury out of my tissues and organs. "After 6-8 months and some chelation treatments, we noticed subtle improvements. My knees quit buckling. I quit falling and was soon able to walk some without holding on to anything. My tremors, slurred speech and short term memory loss had gone. I've had only one bladder infection in the past six years and I cured it without antibiotics. My immune system was beginning to work again. I was able to quit taking my anti-nausea drugs and my muscle-relaxant medications. I no longer needed antibiotics. I had no more seizures and cramps and stopped taking the anti-seizure medicine. "Trying to get even better, I began the Gerson Therapy at home in February 1996. After 2-1/2 years on the Gerson Therapy, my legs continue to get stronger and my balance is improving all the time. I still have leg spasms occasionally, not as often or severe as before. I

don't get short of breath like before. I have control of my fingers and don't drop things any more. "I am still constantly improving, very gradually, but steadily. My stinging and burning pain in my feet and legs is more tolerable now. Since the amalgam removal, chelation and change in diet, ALL my symptoms are either IMPROVED or GONE." We have seen a few MS patients get entirely well – however, admittedly, after chemotherapy it is much more difficult and takes longer.
