Tell yourself every day when you look in the mirror that you are getting healthier and stronger and are being guidedto eat and live in a better way. Many people do get well and resume ahealthy life, continuing to eat and live in a health-supporting way. Unfortunately, after they recover and become busy, they often stopreading this board or posting here; but many have said they feel wellbefore they leave the group. And, yes, they usually changed many thingsto find what works best for their body. We're all a little different. But, doing cleanses such as mention by the previous poster anddiscussed on cure zone helps and eating the most nutritious dietpossible makes a difference for anyone. The eating habits and lifestyle in the US has become so de-natured anddetrimental to health that they are causing illnesses. Here's a post I wrote for another site that you may find helpful.I started reading about Anti-Candida (or anti-yeast) diets 15 years agowhen I became ill with CFS. I read Dr. William Crook's classicbook, The Yeast Connection, and several other books on an anti-candidaway of eating. Here are some anti-candida diet ideas & some comments on healthfuleating habits.1) Eliminate sugar and anything containingsugar because it feeds yeast and creates toxins plus causes yourinsulin to rise suddenly and then fall--making you feelbad and causing the desire for more sugar. Sugar can affect your moodand emotions in a negative way. There is a famous book that waswritten in the '60 or '70's called "Sugar Blues." It's still in manybook stores. It outlines many of the negative things that sugar doesto thebody. Because there is so much sugar in theAmerican diet, even children are now getting diabetes in increasingnumbers. Sugar isn't even a real food; it has no nutrients at all. It's more like a drug. People get addicted to it the way they do otherdrugs. So, first, eliminate sugar which not only feeds candida, butcancer clinics say that it feeds cancer cells.2) Eliminate all white flour products and reduce all grains (eat noboxed cold cereals--they are full of molds and yeasts). Grains, whichinclude breads, cereals of all kinds, crackers, cookies, rolls, buns, etc. AND starchy vegetables like potatoes and yams turn into sugar inthe body. They are all "starches" which can be considered another namefor "sugar." Have only one serving of a whole grain product a day fora while or none at all.3) Limit fruits & fruit juices. Fruits are sweet and contain fructose, which is a form of sugar. So, you can keep fruit to a minimum in yourdiet. Maybe a half cup (one serving) a day. Limit high sugar fruitslike watermelon and banana, cherries, peaches and plums. Kiwi fruithas the very high amount of vitamin C and only a medium amount ofsugar. Some cultures - like the Chinese - rarely eat fruit and do justfine. Regarding fruit juices, they are loaded with yeasts and molds.4) So, what do you eat: lots of vegetables- hopefully, organic. Organicvegetables taste better because they are grown in healthy soil that isfull of nutrients instead of dead soil that is full of chemicals - theway big corporation farms grow crops. If possible, shop at an organicgrocery store. A vegetable or fruit can look healthy and have verylittle nutrition because it was grown in soil with little nutrition. Here's a sample menu: Breakfast: Soft boiled eggs plus raw, steamed orboiled carrots and broccoli or spinach. You can use organic butter, ghee, or virgin coconut oil on the vegetables. You could have a halfpiece of Ezekiel or Manna bread with your meal - just don't toast itbecause it's a living food and heat will damage the nutrients.Lunch: 3 ounces chicken with a half cup cauliflower & a half cupasparagus - you can use organic butter, ghee, coconut oil or olive oilwith each meal. These are good fats that will not make you fat. Infact, virgin coconut oil, which you can order online, is said to helpa person lose weight. (It has to be virgin oil) Salad with dark greenlettuses or spinach, tomatoes, and sliced avocado ( a very heathyfood) fresh squeezed lemon juice & olive oil and a bit of sea salt orceltic salt. OR a carrot salad, beet salad or cole slaw with red andgreen cabbage (remember, the more color the vegetable has, the morenutrients). Lettuses don't have as much nutrition as other vegetables,so keep lettuce salads to a minimum.Dinner: ground turkey with onions and garlic, sauteed on low heat inolive or coconut oil, or a lamb chop, summer squash, red Swiss chardwith butter or virgin coconut oil or organic butter and powderedgarlic. Salad from lunch list above.Snacks:1) a kiwi, half grapefruit, or avocado with lemon juice & salt.2) a mixture with plain yogurt (Nancy's or Brown Cow are considered tobe healthy brands), 2 Tb flaxseed oil (very healthy omega 3 oil thatis needed by every cell of the body but is rarely found in the typicalAmerican diet) and ground flax seeds for a nutty flavor and to addmore bulk/fiber and nutrition. You can also add fruit--pineapple andpapaya fruits are sweet but also full of natural enzymes so arehelpful for digestion and may be safe regarding candida when used withthe yogurt, a candida fighter.3)Another snack item that is very healthy is Raw Almond Butter, whichI buy at my organic food store from the frig. Put a little on a halfslice of Ezekiel bread. Skinless, raw, refrigerated almonds containB17, which is in very few foods. It is considered to be a cancerpreventer by many researchers. Nuts and seeds are healthy only if theyhaven't been roasted, salted and exposed to light for a long period oftime, so most nuts you see in stores are damaged and unhealthy. Itused to be that people bought nuts in their shells and had a nutcracker to open them and eat them. That is the healthy way to do it.You can order healthy, natural nuts online right from the tree growerwhen they're in season. With a diet like this, adding one serving (half cup) of basmati brownrice, kamut, quinoa, millet or a serving of Ezekiel or Manna highnutrition bread, you will have a well rounded diet. BUT IT WILL BEHEALTHY FOR YOU *ONLY* IF IT WORKS FOR YOUR PARTICULAR BODY. TUNE IN TO HOW YOU FEEL AFTER EATING ANY FOOD ITEM. IF YOU FEEL BAD, AVOID ITFOR A WHILE AND TRY IT AGAIN LATER. With this diet, you will get1) 6-8 servings of vegetables(2 servings each meal & 1 serving protein)2) 3 servings of protein--(try to keep it to 2-3 oz or a half cup orless) Include some non-mercury fish like wild ocean salmon & sardines.3) omega 3(refrigerated liquid flaxseed oil) and other healthyfats/oils that are needed by the body. They will help you to feelsatisfied. Olive oil is another that is good. Borage oil caps are good.4) 1 serving of fruit or no fruit if your candida is extreme,5) 1 or 2 servings of healthy starches. If you have bloating with thesecut back on the starches and fruits for a while, then try reintroducingthem after a month or so. The goal is to be able to eat with nobloating or indigestion. When bloating or discomfort happens, yourdigestive system is saying "no" to the food you have eaten. Productsfor indigestion are being sold in this country by the billions whenthe truth is that people need to adjust their diet, not add moreunnatural chemicals from drug companies. Also, most adults need to eat only about a cup of food at a meal. Ourstomachs, if they are not stretched out of shape, are only the size ofour two hands held together to form a bowl. Try to avoid overeating, that strains your system. Many restaurant, especially chainrestaurants, serve 2 to 3 times the amount of food that a personshould be eating. Many people stuff it in and think that's normal. Itisn't. Feeling stuffed is not healthy. Never eat fake butters likemargerine or others-they are so damaged that they are like poisons toyour system. Avoid sodas, which have the equivalent of 18 teaspoons ofsugar in them--especially avoid diet sodas--these are not foods. Avoiddeepfried foods and fried foods in general. Eat everything organic. Meatsin the supermarket are filled with antibiotics and preservatives. Avoidsupermarket salt--it's been heated to such a high degree to preserve itthat it's toxic to the body, buy sea salt or celtic salt instead.Celtic salt, which you can order online, is actually a grey salt. That's the way totally natural salt looks and it's full of mineralsof all kinds from the ocean. Try to eat natural, unprocessed foods. Most food manufacturer create foods to have a longer shelf life andtherefore more profit. In doing that they damage the nutrient valueof the food, often to the point that it is unhealthy. Cancer and otherimmune diseases have been on the rise steadily since the massproduction of crops and animals started in the '50's and '60's, usingmore chemicals in their growth & more additives & preservatives. Before that time, many families still had a garden, and women cannedtheir own produce for the winter. In countries where people still eatnaturally, they don't get the diseases that Americans get in thenumbers that we do. Many large research studies have been done onthis. The studies don't get much attention in the media. Maybe a fewsentences are said about the research results on the news. But I thinkthat everyone knows that junk food like chips, ice cream, candies, cookies, pastries, and other similar high carb, sugary snacks are badfor anyone, yet people become addicted to eating the stuff. Same istrue of fast foods sold in most of the popular restaurant chains inthe US.Speaking of restaurants makes me think of the custom of being servedice water before a meal. The stomach is like a boiling pot of acidsfor digesting food. Ice water dropped into a boiling pot cools it andweakens its power. It's best for digestion to have a very smallamount, if any, warm liquid, like tea or lemon water, with a meal.Iced or cold drinks at any time chill the internal organs whichnormally are to be kept at a warm temperature in order to functionwell. I learnedthis from Chinese medicine. It makes sense to me.Those are some basic ideas for anti-candida diet and for diet ingeneral. Sorry it's so long. I hope it helps.Sandy"misssmile5" wrote:<snips>doing anticandida diet for almost a week. Some symptoms much better but lost weight...found condradicting infoas far as the diet goes. have also been discouraged...fear I may neverrecover..am almost 23 - have had this for 9 months...brougt on by 5rounds of antibiotics... needing help and encouragementCandidiasis stories:http://CureZone.com/forums/f.asp?f=41http://CureZone.com/dis/http://CureZone.com/diseases/parasites/List Un: candidiasis- Post message: candidiasis Group page: candidiasis
