Hi Chloieoh,I'm a vegan who has been doing the Budwig protocol for the past 2 months (and plan to continue). I had the same concerns and never found a suitable substitute for the cottage cheese (or yogurt). I have settled for low-fat, organic, cottage cheese. It's a compromise, but one I can live with. It's those darned sulfonated proteins, they are available in a variety of seeds (nuts) and even with the Omega 3 Fatty Acids, but it is pretty difficult to replicate the diet that sustained homo sapiens during the development of our physiology. The Budwig protocol is just a convenient trade-off for trying to reinvent the early hominid diet. I can attest that after only 2 months on the Budwig protocol, I can see a marked difference. My joints are no longer arthritic; my appetite is satisfied with a moderate quantity of food (vegan), and everything seems to be clicking along as though I was much younger (I'm

66). I found the FlaxSeedOilGroup in an effort to provide a close friend with information while he is dealing with prostate cancer (metastasized to bone). So far, both he and I are doing quite well. I take my FO/CC in a smoothie every morning. I found that I needed to add more berries and fruit to mitigate the CC factor, so now my smoothie is large (about 16 oz.) but tastes very fruity with little cottage cheese taste. So, in the final analysis, I guess I have to say that I have not found a way to substitute "dairy" in my experience with Dr. Budwig's recommendations. But I'm guessing that you could probably eleminate the cottage cheese by eating a modest quantity of walnuts and almonds with freshly ground flax seeds. I would welcome other's opinions on this. You have raised a very good question.Steve - chloieoh To:
