In a few days I am getting a fig tree and I am going to plant my avocado

seeds.

Until I get the fig tree I am going to build a mini plastic green house. It

doesn't even

matter what the climate zone... The weather is so outta wack, I don't even

know how to dress!

The weather don't know what it wants. Ehhh but I will check into that

compost thing. I just

grinded sea shells and egg shells into a fine powder. Anything organic I am

putting it in the dirt! : )

Thanks.

Jay

Re: Very very very poor soil and

planting/yogiiguruji

Hi Jay,

You'd do much better to lose the miracle grow and use compost instead to

improve your soil. Loosen it up, and mix in the compost. You can buy it by

the bagful at any home/garden center, and lots of towns (I'm assuming you

live in the US) offer it free to the residents. Whether or not you can grow

avocados would depend on what climate zone you live in. Go to your local

library and pick up a couple books on vegetable gardening, they will tell

you what zone you're in, and anything else you need to know to get started.

Good luck

and

Happy harvests,

While digging my garden I have noticed how poor the soil is. It is so poor

the grass barely grows, literally. The soil has cement rocks, stones. To

fertilize it I have been putting miracle grow and coffee ground on it. I am

planning to grow radish, beets, potatoes, peas, tomatoes, string beans, corn

iceberg and grand ripids lettuce, large cherry tomatoes, okra, and parsely.

Spaceing and fertilizing tips would be a great help. This is my first garden

I also want to grow avocado... Can this be done?... I love avocada.

Thanks for your time.

Jay
