Yoga Therapy and Manic Depression

As I was reading this, all I could think was, " what a wonderful

thing that this man, the demi-god, sought out help and stuck with

his program for as long as he did. "

 

So often, we become unbalanced, even within the " good " things

that we're doing, and we neglect some aspect of bringing our

body/soul/spirit into wholeness. Too often, the ones who GIVE the

most, need more given back to them, but because we assume that they have

so many answers that they can answer for themselves.

 

In truth, we all need to be " ministered " to, to be made to feel

loved and particularly to be accepted into the beloved.

 

It would be ideal for us all to be islands and sufficient unto ourselves,

but we're in desperate need of connection to each other. In terms

of astrology, we've had Uranus in Aquarius for so long, giving us all the

answers and getting us so intellectually savvy, we haven't had to touch

other from the comfort of our isolated lives. Thank God that this

week, Uranus went into Pisces, forcing us ALL to seek out meaningful

connections, not just lipservice.

 

Another " problem " I see in the field of wholistic health

care, is that to become an expert in a field means that one must

abandon most of the rest of the known world to get into the depths

of their discipline. This will lead to imbalance over time, as there is

no ONE WAY to heal. In fact, the fastest path to wholism is through

integrating most moderate approaches and identifying where the imbalance

in either direction lies.

 

To the credit of the man who was manic depressive and dealing with anger

issues, for whatever reasons, and we can be sure he struggled with more

than ordinary pressures related to his " position " , he sought

out assistance and humbled himself.

 

Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.
