Guest guest
Afew months ago I was visiting a top notch orthopedic surgeon for another problem. I mentioned that I drop things, have pain and or tingling/numbness in my hand, as though my hand 'forgets' to hold on. I thought it was just from DJD in the neck..Nyaaaah he says, its carpel tunnel. I don't have repetitive motion in my work. Don't need it he says, He demonstrates as he speaks with his hands flopped down twards the floor as he holds his forarm out straight. We all sleep with our hands like this, he says, it's a natural relaxed position. Use a brace, he says and give the wrist a chance to rest and let the inflamation heal...he demontrates a flat forearm and hand, saying that's what I do for mine! It really helps. I can feel the difference when I don't brace my hand. it's well worth a try. The computer still bothers my hand more than anything else, but I can cut glass again, and I had let my studio get dusty for the last couple years, because of the problem holding on to things. dee

I am not sure what you are talking about. Does it hold you arm down at your side as you sleep? Can you roll over in your sleep with this on? Thanks for any details about the brace that you can provide. This is also a problem that I have a mild case of and I don't want it to get any worse. Is this brace something that you bought or did you make it? If you bought it, where did you buy it? Thanks -tom BTW, I have found that drinking a lot of water is the best thing that you can do for tendonitis and carpel tunnel problems. It helps flush away the lactic acids that build up in the muscles. Add alkalizing drops to the water for an even better effect. -tom
Guest guest
I use a ace type bandage I got at the dollar store and wrap the wrist as if it were sprained. A brace like the kids use on thier skate board would work, or any of the many supporting OTC elastic wrist braces you can get at the drug store...It is just a wrist/hand support to keep you hand from dropping into the limp wrist position while you sleep. It is so cheap and easy it is worth a try and for me it is certainly a healing tool. What are alkalizing drops? dee > > > > Thanks for the tip. Guest guest
Hi Dee, I'm sure you'll get other answers than this one, but for alkalinizing drops I use 3-4 drops of Glycothymoline, as needed, usually 3-5 times daily. I use litmus paper to test for alkalinity in urine after. This is an Edgar Cayce remedy and if you want to know more about it, I'd suggest a search on E.Cayce or the A.R.E. (Assoc. for Research & Enlightenment- located in Va. Beach). Alka seltzer and baking soda are also alkalinizing, as are most fruits and veggies. Lemons are very alkaline-reacting.
