Guest guest
Goodness, please talk to your friend and get a second opinion and maybe even a third one. 25 years ago, they wanted to do the same thing to me, I refused. I went to my Chiropractor instead. I'm 62 years old, and do HEAVY physical labor every day (factory worker and farm woman.) The Doctor at that time told me if I didn't have the surgery, I wake up some day and never to able to walk......oh well, guess he was wrong. Each person who I have talked to that had this done, said they would NOT do it, if they had known what living with it afterward was going to be like. There are alternatives to that type surgery, there is a new method of doing back surgery developed in MN using a platinum piece inserted between the bones in the back and filled with the bone taken out for the indentations.....No cutting on your thigh for bone to put in. Depending on your friends age, he could be suffering with this for the rest of his life-------get a Second Opinion. Rosemary
