Guest guest
Dear Group Thank you all for your help on the antioxidant issue. My interactions with oncologists in Boulder over the past 2 decades have been characterized largely by benign neglect. They've let me do whatever I see fit so, thus far, I've been fortunate enough to be able to dodge this bullet and focus my attentions elsewhere. This particular patient lives in a rather small mountain town and her local oncologist has made it clear that she has had no previous experience with Chinese medicine. She's just trying to exercise due diligence as best she can, for better or worse. While I don't agree with her, I can appreciate her position, however uninformed it may be. I did in fact offer to provide her with translations of Chinese studies demonstrating improved clinical outcomes for the very squamous cell cx. of the tonsil my patient has using an integrative WM CM approach. She was apparently uninterested in anything not published by a juried Western medical journal. If any of you are aware of any study meeting this criteria I'd be interested in knowing about it. This has obviously not been an interest of mine in the past. Thanks again for your help. Chip
Guest guest
I have an allergy to almonds, macadamia nuts and a slight problem with xing ren. I think I bit into one once and it gave me the same feeling as almonds. With all of them, cooking takes away some, but not all, of the allergic response. doug > Message: 7 > Fri, 5 Jul 2002 07:05:20 -0700 (PDT) > ver christie <scampy68 > Nut allergy vs Apricot Seed? > > Can someone with nut allergies take Xing Ren? Guest guest
Dawn- Your first thought- Lavender, was a good one- except wrong Lavender. You want Lavandula angustifilia, also called True Lavender. " L.A. " , is a good balancer. Does she have low blood pressure? " L.A. " , could bring heart rate and Blood Pressure down. If they are already low, you might not want to do that. My guess is that the drugs, anesthesia, etc, is taking longer to get out of her body. Some people are sensitive to meds, especially older people. I am assuming that her Doctor has already ruled out other causes for memory changes????? Trying a drop of lavandula angustifolia on a hankie, having her inhale for 3-5 seconds with mouth and exhale. I don't remember you saying how long ago the surgery was, but as a surgical nurse- I do see a lot of people, especially the older population, who have problems with mental changes with meds. Normally once they get back in their own environment and the meds get out of their body- they get better. Cheryl P.S. It would probably be best if you hold the hankie with oil. You wouldn't want her to use it near her eyes. Hello:) I use valerian root and kava. If you drink alcohol you might want to use valerian instead, just don't use it with alcohol, and adjust any pain meds you might be taking, because both of them enhance the effect of pain meds. Don't operate power tools or machinery when taking these two herbs, they tend to cause drowsiness. Kava is a mild antianxiety, antispasmotic, hypnotic, muscle relaxant.. Valerialn is also and if one doesn't work the other usually does! You might have some vivd dreams when taking either one of tham.. If you have problems with water retention, one of them causes more water retention than the other..I can't rmeber which one right off hand! You'd have to look it up! A lot has happened to me since those days, I finally moved and changed my whole life. My interest in alternative remedies is still strong, and I hope to keep learning. I'm an intuitive, empath, healer, humbly walking an earth based path that has strong ties with Native Peoples. Since '99 I've had a few teachers from various tribes, though I still carry other ways in my heart which are similar, though the Native Spirit is very strong, it brings me greaa Peace. Some of my interests include: holistic health, metaphysics, spirituality, reincarnation, learning from different cultures, computers, music, helping others, and finding true friendship. It would be great if I could find people to chat with. I'll be peeking back here often for chatters. If anyone's interested, please write me here. I just bought a remedy for skin rash, which I'll share the results of it's effectiveness with you all. When I can, I like making my own remedies as well, mouthwash, toothpaste, soap, common household items like that. Although I'm still learning, I've had success doing this. I am glad to be back! Sincerely, A SilverSpirit ______________________ ______________________ Message: 3 Thu, 30 Jan 2003 21:03:08 -0000 " Dennis Lewis <denlew94131 " <denlew94131 Re: hair loss from stress Dear Eve-- If your hair loss is indeed due to your internal reactions to stress (have you seen a doctor about this? If not, you should.), then you will indeed need to deal directly with your stress. There are a number of approaches, but they all involve becoming more aware of what is really going on in you. You may want to talk with a health professional. Or you might want to start some kind of meditation program under the guidance of a good teacher. You might also want to start with some physical activities like chi kung, tai chi, or yoga. It's also important that you get sufficient aerobic exercise. You should probably also look at what you eat to make sure you are getting appropriate nutrients. Fast food, junk food, and too many high glycemic carbos can greatly contribute to stress reactions. You might also want to look closely at your breathing. The way many of us breathe (fast, upper-chest breathing) increases the liklihood of stressful reactions in our lives. A simple self-help remedy to help deal with stress is to learn how to lengthen your exhalation, so that it is longer than your inhalation. One good approach is to do pursed-lip breathing whenever you feel highly stressed. You simply exhale through your mouth as though you were very gently blowing out the candles on a cake (without actually blowing them out), then wait for your inahaltion to take place when it's ready. Be sure the inhalation takes place through your nose. You will be able to find other good information about breathing on my website. I would like some advise. I have a friend who had ovarian cancer and was given the all clear three months ago and now just found out she has liver cancer and the prognosis is not good. I am new at using oils and have been having fun experimenting and would like to find something to help her sleep and feel more at peace, am wondering if there is an essential oil or oils I can mix with my carrier oil to use as a roll on when she feels she needs it. Guest guest
Peggy -- A suggestion (if it hasn't already been covered -- I'm overwhelmed by postings from, I suspect, far too many groups): You are, I think, a recognized expert on crystals and healing. Judging from what I've read that you've written, if you're not, you certainly should be. To that end, I recommend writing a book and publishing it. It won't cost you anything (except the time needed to organize and write it) if you do something along the lines of http://www.lulu.com/static/on-demand-books1.php No, they aren't paying me anything to say this. Yes, I think -- with some word-of-mouth promotion among peers -- you'll see money from it. Now get to it! John.

I had thought I'd write a book or organize some of what I've written into a publishable form but have had so many obstacles arise that I'm not certain that is supposed to happen.
